Common illustration mistakes that you can avoid

Developing Your Photographic Style

What makes a famous photographer famous? It’s not the gear he uses, and it’s normally not a single image, either. Most of the greatest photographers have a certain style that makes their images immediately recognizable. Style is the reason why you can pick an Ansel Adams landscape out from a thousand others. Style makes you unique, it’s an extension of your personality and it’s what sets you apart from everyone else. What Style is NotThere are many misconceptions about... continue reading

No advice here!

Time and time again I see articles about tips and/or advice for newbies, written by... well, newbies. When I read a blog that might contain new, useful info, I check the source. I look at the author's profile page, his online files/sales ratio but most importantly at the quality of his work. And in many cases I find that they have a small portfolio, very few sales and not so great images.Which doesn't necessarily mean they're wrong about what they have to say, but after four years in the business... continue reading

Ideas with fruits and how not to take photographs

One day Jelena ran into the studio with an idea to make a photo with a couple of oranges like this one. So i made this shot. And another couple of hundreds.Sometimes this happens to me. 3 Posted!!! But not such a good rating.. :(

Alright.. Not off to a very good start but thats ok right? It's a learning process. Apparently I key worded up the wazoo with words that didn't have anything to do with the photos.. I mean it is a stop sign so I thought that words like: Traffic, Cars, Motorcycles, etc.. etc.. would have been alright. I'm sure I put in a few words that really had nothing to do with it like: Ticket or Law.. I also had the tittle in all caps which is also one of the no No's around these parts. I can respect all of this... continue reading
