The best picture when you're on the roadTaking your best photography shot seems almost as hard as capturing a water drop with a lasso. However, there‘s nothing impossible and the opportunity always does exist. Sometimes we sense it in a vague or quite significant way.We can't determine where the opportunity is but it seems like we can reach out and make it happen. If success is not achieved, it might be because we are missing that moment, that unique impulse of perception, sensitivity... continue reading

I’ve been involved in photography, in one way or another, most of my adult life. As we’re celebrating World Photography Day on August 19, I took a minute to review our relationship and remember how much joy it brought into my life.I love photography because it brought me my first job, as a photojournalist for a local daily newspaper in my hometown, Galati. I was 22 at the time, and photography made me see the small, poor industrial city with new eyes. Where most people didn’t see anything... continue reading

Your camera will take no photos while it is stored in its bag!Having your camera at an easy to reach spot is an important key to making the most of quickly passing photo opportunities. It is also wise to make sure the card is in and the battery at least somewhat charged.I keep my camera on a small table where I can grab it with just a few seconds notice. A butterfly flitting past the kitchen window or a raccoon waddling across my porch are good reasons to spend a few minutes outdoors with... continue reading
I´ve said many times that my opinion about Bali island was changed after one year when I was living there. Before that I was just a typical tourist and I used to think only about beaches, parties and temples. But now I can say that Bali is more than that. See these pictures - what do you think? Do you agree with me? :) continue reading

When it comes to photography, I can't tell you much about exposure, F stops, ISO and other words which sound like gibberish to me, but I can tell you what I like to see and I have a crush on: those images taken on impulse, with no planning, no “say cheese”, no organized sessions, no MUAs, hundreds of lights, softboxes and light diffusers, backdrops, hair stylists and designer dresses. Those images that unexpectedly appear in front of you whether you're walking down the street or... continue reading
Here we are.... The last spring days of the year. Great season, leaving numerous impresions, colors and scents in our memory. We chose to spend our spring vacations in the Netherlands. It can't be dissapointing, no matter, what the weather is like!Colors, tints and shades of the Keukenhof Garden of Europe can't leave anyone indiferent.Having spent there a whole day, we were leaving with the feeling that we haven't had enough(((You just want to cherish your eyes and nose again and again and... continue reading
There are situations where you must be quick to make your photos - even if the environment is anything else but photographer friendly. This happened to me at the Easter Procession in Malaga, Spain, during the Semana Santa (=Holy Week). This area is sunny and warm for nearly the full year. The weather was still nice when I left the hotel but it became very cold and rainy during the day.The first photo shows the leading part of the procession: Men and women with their traditional black cloaks... continue reading
