I have owned a camera since my teenage years. I got my first part-time job at 13 years old and took my first paycheck to a pawn shop and bought a Canon AE-1 (this was 33 years ago). Since then, I have had a camera in my hands. I took it to school, concerts, everywhere I went. Sadly, I don't have any of those photos any more.As an adult, I dabbled in photography. Travel and vacation photos, food, flowers, etc... All in 35mm and had a hard drive filled with scans of the negatives. That died too.... continue reading

I'm just starting out. I've made exactly $4.47 from selling stock photography so far. Alas, none of that is on Dreamstime. Apparently the search algorithms on other sites are more favorable to me than this one. I'm not quitting my day job.I started out by simply uploading my best photos. I didn't take those photos for stock photography. I took them as a hobby. My hobby is hiking in the mountains, mostly in California, and finding and identifying wildflowers. I don't think it will shock anyone... continue reading
Good day Dt. Today I want to talk to you about a subject we all hit. Editing photos after I downloaded them in PC / Laptop. From the age of 14 I have heard of the renowned Photoshop program. Today I think it's the most complex photo editing program. At first I was playing with him but since I took stock pictures I realized I need to stop playing and I have to be more careful about details like contrast, light, hue, level, layers, shadows, black point. What programs do u use for edit ?Newer I tried... continue reading

I started putting pictures here from January 2017 and the sales did not go well, but last night I had the biggest selling in my career. Thank you to the buyer and thank DT. I was beginning to lose my confidence in myself and my photographer career. But last night everything changed. Thank you.The 300th photo My Biggest Sale (P-EL) continue reading
Hup hup hurray.. My 2nd milestone, I reached 500 photos online already. I joined Dreamstime on June 2015 and by December 2016 I reached 250 photos online. In about 5 months I doubled the number to 500. This is really exciting that I made it in not even 2 years. I hope that I will have more photos as well as more sales in the future.1st photo 250th photo 500th photo How do you like the photos? Any advice so I could make better photos? continue reading
In my last post, I told the community about how I was new to DT, but not new to the stock photography business. then I commenced telling of all the things I have learned to do, & what not to do. Well, an update on that. I logged in today to look at my portfolio to see which photos were being viewed the most. The ironic thing is, the photo that I posted in my last blog showing that I had not learned enough about lighting, the "Deserted Barn" photo, which I have posted in this blog, it is... continue reading

( More on that in a bit. ) I got into this maybe just like everyone else, as a hobby, taking photos at family reunion events, or the all to familiar family vacation.
