Hello out there! I'm new to Dreamstime, so far the experience has been fun, to my delight I can boast of 10 images online! There has even been some views, now I'm anxious for those sales to come rolling in! I hope to learn what buyers are most interested so I can be more in tuned to meet their expectations and needs as well as sharpening my photography skills. Blogging is also a new thing for me, I hope to communicate with fellow bloggers from all over and make new friends! This is a fun and exciting... continue reading

Here is what was accepted as my first image. My story is still going on and I have promised myself to make it a successful venture in microstock markets.Well, I was a crappy writer before coming to microstock market. Give and take the bad times or good times, I was making $1200 per month. My life was torn between the day job and the writing assignments. I was sleeping for 4 hours and sometimes even on outdoor trips, i was working till 4 AM. Life was total mess. There was no time for anything... continue reading
Yikes, I did it, my first $100.00 and within 10 months and before the end of August, so I am ahead of my first goal.Thank you dreamstime and all of you wonderful buyers out there.I must admit it was a bit daunting when I started uploading last October and I would look at other portfolios but it was the only way to learn and hopefully improve my images. So for all of you newbie’s out there upload, read blogs, message boards and get active. There are lots of great people here with tons... continue reading
First sale, 50 accepted images, becoming exclusive, 100 accepted images, and now 200 accepted images. Little, but significant milestones for a newbie in stock photography. To honor the 200th accepted image I decided to do what I promised myself for the other newbie-milestones: sharing my first experiences in a blog. The coincidence wants that I can announce my 200th accepted picture with a salute of gunshots as this picture is a cannon I shot .I’ve been taking pictures since I was born, at that... continue reading

I wish when I started here as a newbie that I understood the answer to this question. I didn't know for a long timeabout Editorial pictures. It certainly slowed me down trying to avoid getting people in my images.Clearly you cannot run after the Queen or Prime Minister and ask , ' please sign here ' on a contract form !At events like agricultural shows, highland games, lectures by VIPs you can take pictures which need no model release. You aren't allowed to manipulate the images obtained at... continue reading
As a new contributor here, when I was in the first 50 uploads on DT, I was uploading stuff I should not have. I had always considered a beautiful red rose photo I had shot as my best ever shot. I uploaded among the very first uploads only to find it rejected.Guess the reason? We already have similar images in our database and your submission doesn't exceed existing images in quality or composition. Or something like that.A brutal punch in the face, a sky high contributor with a castle in the... continue reading
Well, I just got a hard lesson from DT. I uploaded 10 photos within about two weeks and the first two who were moderated were rejected. Honestly, I had high expectations because I spent a lot of time making and edit these pictures.0-1. "This image is over-processed/ overfiltered." - I opened the redacted photo again and watching from other point of view, is true, the photo is "too proccessed".0-2. "Wrong composition and poor light" - And once again I am convinced that it is so. I did't follow... continue reading
