My story for other newbies like me.I started out wondering... Could I actually sell stock photos? What photos are considered stock? What photos should I submit? Can I really make some extra cash doing this online?I decided I would give it a try and just upload a few older photos I had taken a while back and see what happens. As I did that and waited for my first approvals or rejections, I decided to do some research to see what is selling and what isn't.I wanted to see what others... continue reading

Hello everybody,I'm a Dutch photographer. For the past I've worked mostly on commission as a sports, travel, nature and studio photographer before I got sucked into the corporate life. Now I'm trying to get back to photography and writing.I'm started uploading the pics from my portfolio which I thought were good for RF. Well, most of my pics haven't even been approved or uploaded yet (now have 25 online) and I already have sold THREE shots, the best-selling shown above (giving me $ 5,00)!... continue reading
Recently I have reached 100 uploaded and accepted photos. This is not very impressive and also none of the images was sold. But this is now what I want to talk about today.Let's look at this pepper photo. It's nothing special and was taken nearly two years ago, while I was preparing food for lunch in my new (at that time) bright and beautiful kitchen. It was not supposed for stocks, but later, when I learned about such places as Dreamstime, i processed it and uploaded. It was accepted, never... continue reading

On my main work, I'm sofware engineer in test, in other words I write programs to test different systems. It means, I'm used with automatization and don't really like to do a lot of work by hands. So, to the stock photos.First I take my camera and used as it should be used - take pictures. It's hands work, but it's amazing and exciting. Then I take out my flash card from the camera and insert it into computer. Then the magic starts.Photoes are automatically copied to certain folder. I keep... continue reading
Hello!I'm now 25 years old and half of my life (since 12) I'm with camera in hands. The process of seeing the picture and finally taking it is something, that can't be divided from my life.But... for all these many years I was thinking of beauty or value of the moment that I try to stop, but some other aspects were not covered by me.In august 2012 I met a friend, who was doing stock photos and registered. It turned out that things are not so simple: some photos are not needed, some - require... continue reading
This image was sold first this year. December was nice with 5 sales. Hoping to make it 10+ this month? I have a very, VERY small portfolio. A cute little port isn't going to earn a cute sum. Trying to find time to upload more. Three months with DT have been nice. :)Thanks to my friends for all the support and encouragement and double thanks to the "big guys" here for the inspiration and guidance. Love this site! Very friendly for newbies.... continue reading
