Photography has been my passion for over 51 years. My work started as a family photographer but really escalated when we travelled to the set of a movie called The Cowboys when living in New Mexico. Being close and photographing John Wayne catapulted my photography into a whole other realm. In high school I took printing & photography at a vocation school as well as a photography class at my sr. high. That launched me to my first job, traveling in three states taking portraits of children... continue reading

So it hit the news this morning that the South African based company Steinhoff International is to take over the British discount store Poundland. They've settled on the figure of £597m, so a bit more than just £1 :)It's a bit weird that I decided to go out and shoot the local high street the other day and took a few editorial shots of shop signs. Poundland was one of the shops I decided to photograph. Here's the image (it's vertical so you'll have to click on it to... continue reading

Yes, images with people may sell the most, but to those of us who don’t have access to studio and models, we should take advantage of other hot topics like current trends and other significant world events and use them somehow. I am new to stock photography and have not yet made much use of photos of people. Usually my “models” are young family members and I have not yet come to terms with the fact that there is no real control over how the photos are used. Editorial photos can be sold for news or commentary use and don't require... continue reading
