One of the more helpful (and non technical) tips I have been given is to keep a list of shots that I want to take. This helps me ensure that I am able to get the shots that are important to me when it comes time for a specific shoot (be it a family photo walk or a paid event).Organizing Lists of ShotsSimply having a list of shots is not enough. The list should be organized in such a way that it is easy to only look at shots relevant to a particular shoot. To help with this, have a "list... continue reading
Do you have or carry a Stock Notebook?I’m sure, like me, you all have been out and about (very often without camera) and have come across a subject which you thought would make stock material.Other times we may have shot a subject but may not have just got it right either compositionally or technically at the time. This is where the “little black book” comes in handy. I have seen one photographer to draw a preliminary sketch before making photos. She has explained that it makes her feel immediately if the imagecan look well, even before preparing all the set. The mentioned photographer makes incredible preliminary sketches with pastels, trying to make the picture to the latest detail.I am not able to draw so well... and frankly, I must confess I would´t have probably so a lot of patience for making detailed picture. Before I have written down description... continue reading
