Art nouveau architecture

Art nouveau, secession, jugendstil. The next stop of Bwagner Tours. Art was always part of the mankind, I think, this is, what really makes us different from animals. From early on, humans decorated their caves, their clothes, then called the greatest artists to build and decorate palaces and churches. But this is the era when - thanks to the industry - it moved into the homes of the common man. Companies, that even in our days work, made it happen. Thonet and Tiffany with their products, Moët et... continue reading

Mushroom picking in Finland

Many of us love to pick our own food. Some of us even grow it. I moved to Finland recently and one of the country's rule made me very happy: One can pick whatever berry or edible mushroom from any forest they wish. They call this “Every man’s right” and it means that one can walk freely in the forest (no matter who owns it).I love walking in the forest. I love the sound of the wind, the trees voices howling, the rays of sun passing through the trees, coloring everything in gold.... continue reading

Tiwi people

Tiwi people are one of the indigenous groups of Australia living on Bathurst and Melville islands, 80 kilometers far from Darwin. I was lucky that I was able to spend with people on Bathurst island three days and furthermore, not as a tourist, but a friend. These islands don´t support tourism and only a very small number of travelers gets here. They also need a special permit, for which they must apply on the Internet. It was very interesting meeting. After living in Indonesia it was totally different... continue reading

Yesterday I decided to look if I had sold anything at all - and with just 86 photo's online my sales are slow but I am fine with that cause for me this is just fun - only to discover that someone bought one of my pics for $11.This is the picture which I believe could have been even better if the sun would have shined.and the next day two more pictures where sold, each for $6.And...all bought with credits from 2010.I feel honoured that someone spend his/her money on my pics... continue reading

This week Featured photographer

Hello fellow photographers,Take a look who joined DT a few month ago and now is the featured photographer. The world famous Joseph Sohm. He may be submitting images I presume just like the rest of us and maybe, who knows, some get rejected on grounds of "distorted pixels" or that "image needs to be clear and supportive of the image's main concept", fatal flaws when it comes to stock. I don't think so... :) All his images are probably accepted instantly as they should be.I feel very proud to... continue reading
