Hello dreamstimers,Two years ago a, a user from Romania stood in front of his computer, thinking about stock photography, andhe created one account here on Dreamstime. This is how I was born. My name is Mangroove. Where he found this name for me, I don't know, but I'm used to it now :)When I was little I used to cry a lot because of my rejections (I am still crying about this :)) ), but as I was growing I began to learn more and more about this stock world where I live. I learned to smile... continue reading

I'm relatively new here and probably have the worst online files to sales going but i plan to keep running with it...Since i started taking photography seriously at the beginning of '09 i have just dumped all my pictures onto various external hard drives with the odd shot reaching flickr etc.I decided to go through them all from the beginning and gradually upload them (is worth a punt eh?) in the hope that people will eventually buy them. i have sifted through the first 250gb today and now... continue reading
It started in Denmark and is hot in The Netherlands nowAn old game in an app form for smartphones. The idea of the photo is already stolen by photgraphers on other stocksites. Fortunately not on DT.Being imitated is a compliment I hope both for me and for the old gameTime to relax after a day of hard workRegards continue reading
On December 2008 I made a proposal to promote our best image in 3 categories. As probably there are a lot of new contributors, I would like to remember it.See original hereWith this proposal I just try to promote our own work, and I would like to recieve your best picture (only one) on each category.I wait your contribution. continue reading
I'd like to share a great tip for illustrators who already sell or are considering selling artwork on Dreamstime. This idea has worked extremely well for me.And while this article is a little wordy, if you take the time to read it, I think you will find it very worth your effort (especially when you get to the end). For the past 20 years I've been an illustrator & graphic designer in Chicago where I have lived my entire life. The best advise I can give ANY illustrator or graphic designer... continue reading
Having been here for over one year now, I have found that experience does make a difference.Over time, you get better at "keywording" your images.I have gone over my early images and found many that could use a "spruce up".You will find that if you go over your early entries, that you will be able to find some new keywords to add.Don't forget your early entries. They've been good to you.Be good to them.I hope this helps you as much as it has helped me.Cheers,... continue reading
My most popularimage is of cycling. It was not for any competition or whatnot. I was walking home through the park and saw a crowd and someone talking via the loudspeaker. So curious like the cat, I couldn't resist to walk across the Commons in Halifax to check it out. Before I knew what was happening, I saw all these bikes getting onto the avenue, so I ran to catch this shot of them with the little boy in the front.I suppose I could fake it and tell you that I actually stood there waiting... continue reading
In the last 3 years on Dreamstime I have shot over 40k shots and only have ~200 online. With that I mind I decided to look at some of my old shots from my externals I have almost a full TB of shots that haven't been looked at since the day they were shot. After just a quick glance over a few of the folders I realized a couplethings.1. Alot of what I shot was absolutely garbage but it did teach me important lessons2. Out of a random folder with 400 shots in it I only and only 17 had any sort... continue reading
The following photos of mine received or will shortly receive a notice of 1 month before getting re-keyworded, moved to the free section, or disabled. My decision has been & will be to disable such photos. However, I wondered if they're worth it but are lost in the sea of the DT library. Maybe this blog will give them some exposure before I disable them if they don't get sold... continue reading
