Idaho Heritage continued

After I to the shoot of the rugged ridge. I got back in my pick-up and went back towards my home. I knew I was not finished. I had spotted a road that forked of Reynold's Creek road that I want to follow. I ended up at the mouth of this red rock canyon. It was to early in the morning to get a good shot of the canyon with the wagon track at the bottom. Canyon shots require noon to early afternoon photography, because of the steepness of the walls and the angle of the sun work together that time of... continue reading

Idaho Heritage

In January of 2012. I purchased a digital camera. I had decided that I was going to start the business that I always wanted to do: Freelance Landscape Photography. I sat out with camera in hand to the most wild place near me, Reynold's Creek in Owyhee county.  This was one of my first digital photos. I uploaded it and it was posted. The reason I was photographing Idaho landscapes was to preserve images of a endangered ecosystem. I see people putting houses closer and closer to the once... continue reading

How to ruin a photo album

Flipping through faded photographs of holidays, (Kodak variety) I spotted how part of every trip for me is to 'go' to the ruins.I celebrate the past in my new destination even if it is not labelled or clear if the statues are native to the country or an import. How much of a continent can be explained by it's ruins is something I question, as this is the past and the country is a new place. When I got to the famous old treasures of Knossos in Crete, I had picked a bad day it was closed but... continue reading

Reflections – Five Classic Kodaks

Over the years, with my interest in photography, I’ve managed to start a collection of vintage cameras. Some came from my husband’s family, several others from a fleamarket in Tennessee.Oddly enough, almost all of these cameras are being sold on Ebay for not only more than I paid for them, but for more than their original pricetag!Recently, I took the time to photograph the Kodak vintage cameras in my collection and research the history of each one. These cameras are near and dear to... continue reading
