In one of my past blogs I mentioned that I was experimenting with an off camera flash in nature detail images. I used a radio remote trigger to fire the flash from different angles off camera axis. The results have been interesting and I find myself shooting a lot of detail images on my hiking trips to improve on the technique. To achieve the results I have been looking for, I set my tripod mounted camera on automatic (not program) and mount a radio slave trigger to the hot shoe mount. I... continue reading

Should we stay at home watching films during a good sunday afternoon or go outdoors ?We decided to go outdoors to visit a nearby lavender farm and climb a hill and found that tens of other families decided the same !When sun is a rationed, even in summer, we need to enjoy it without thinking too much. In other places that have sun all year long people can manage better their relation with the sun. continue reading
I don’t actually recall where I read, that “We all start by loving the toy, and we end up loving the art". That’s precisely how I got hooked to photography. Unlike studio portraits, outdoor portraits provide portrait photographers a variety of challenges and opportunities. As usual I have posted my blog about Outdoor Portraits Shooting Tips and Tricks at www.myblogs.pw website, since its not allowed to post full contents here I ask you all to read from the original post. Shooting sunsets and sunrises is indeed rewarding not only as a photographer but it also touches you on a more personal level. With each and every passing minutes skies take on a different shade of color as setting sunlight passes through clouds.I am by no means an expert, but what I found useful is to go to the same place again and again and each time there would be different scene to capture. Even if it is the Saturday walk with relatives in the recreation park. You never know when you’ll see nice pictures: serious man in expensive costume, carrying cute small dog on his hands, elderly ladies dancing in retro dance stage or city mayor riding his... continue reading
It's amazing how people always complain about the weather: too hot, too cold, too much rain, too much humid, too much snow... Where I come from, people complain even more when it's winter time. I find that weird, since winter is so beautiful. Snow covered evergreen trees are just amazing. Snowflakes reflecting light at night are like precious gems. The snow also absorbs city noise, which makes this season so relaxing. The big reason why I love winter is for outdoor activities. No insects to drive... continue reading
