Yippie !!!Yes after 3 months, I managed to to jump from 300 to 400 sold pictures. And one more thing...For the first time on Dreamstime, my number of sales beat number of my online pictures.I know this isn't such a big deal for many of you pro photographers, but considering lack of my photo equipment and very modest knowledge in that field, I couldn't be more satisfied with present results.Next year my acceptance ratio should increased heavily due to new "heavy artillery" I'm planning to... continue reading
On September, 9th in Volgograd has passed Igor and Lany Grishin's master class on processing of wedding photos. As the founder of Internet-photomagazine I will share the emotions and opinions.1. Why I there have gone. Each wedding photographer faced that during a season many photos collect. Besides, it is necessary to give all photos in time. Processing of photographings very often borrows even more time, than photographing. Igor and Lany Grishin's Master class gave the chance to learn packs... continue reading
Working with Stock Agencies can be more challenging than working events. The quality standards are demanding. In events, customers do not usually have the professional knowledge and they do no inspect images at 100%. As a result, they can be happy with results that agencies would not accept. The main benefit I have found in these agencies is the learning perspective, the challenge, and getting used to rejections without "dropping the ball"This week, I learned the hard way that working tired... continue reading
How do I say this in a nice way? It's my observation and opinion that virtually all the threads about lack of sales, poor sales, theories about views, post-a-blog-get-a-sale, etc., generally are started and bumped up by Contributors who have yet to understand the business of stock. The real answer is to keep uploading QUALITY images and CONCEPTS. If you follow and observe particular Contributors, you will be amazed at how many small portfolios are pulling in huge sales on a consistent basis.... continue reading
We enjoyed a three-day weekend here in the US in celebration of Labor Day.An opportune time for me to complete my Traffic School (joy!) especially because it is due in court this coming Monday![The side story to this is yes, I was pulled over because allegedly I did a rolling stop.I fought this via written trial but was found guilty anyway. If you guessed that I strongly disagree with this conviction, you are right, but that’s another story. But hey, second traffic ticket in twenty-five years of driving. I find a little peace in that.]... continue reading
Finally I achieved my first milestone - 50 photos online. I was stucked at 46 before being inactive 4 years back. It has been almost five months that I am registered at Dreamstime and for now, I must say I really enjoyed to upload my holiday photos and events from my place of residence.I learned a lot in terms of improved techniques of photography and editing skill with Refusals of reviewers. They have always given me good reasons why my photos are not accepted although at first glance, it seemed unfair. And I thank you very much for cela.Il happened during these months to contest the merits of the refusal... continue reading
....but the last 30 were excruciating get accepted! In brief, I have been constantly uploading and active since January 2011 and today I finally got to the 500 milestone! Now 20 days of rest and vacation...I hope to get a lot of pic and upload them from October!Ciao! continue reading
I've noticed a trend that seems to be taking shape for me. Instead of getting lots of smaller sales through subscriptions or just random sales, I seem to be getting fewer but bigger, higher revenue sales in recent months. This is neither a good or bad thing. It seems to mostly be averaging out to about the same as my usual mix of sales, but I just thought it was interesting.I'm wondering if it's just that my portfolio is getting older on this site, which results in more older, higher level photos... continue reading
