Like many people I have been intrigued by special effects achieved with software editing applications that can enhance your photos. Will the effects make the photo better or worse? The only way to find out is to apply the effect. Be sure to work from a copy of your original photo in case the effect does not work or save under a different name from your original. I have tried combining photos, using painting special effects and using reversal color special effects. Reversal... continue reading

It is really fun to plan to capture a specific picture at a specific moment of the day.For example, after a long calculation with an online sun position calculation tool, I went to Paris from Netherlands to capture a sunrise and a sunset in the middle of the Eiffel tower. It was the 4th of December 2016.Once arrived at the shooting spot, it is always amazing to see the sun moving slowly to the position that you expected him to reach at a certain moment somewhere in your composition.... continue reading

Usually every time a photo of mine sells it fills my heart with joy. Yesterday this photo sold. It gave me a bitter sad feeling. We were tourists in Paris in May 2013 and just the first day when we started to roam the city, were surprised by the intense police activity, which I found rather amusing. They were dressed for battle as preparing to fight a huge force when in fact the demonstrators turned out to be elderly people that tried to make a last stand against legalizing gay marriage. ... continue reading
After 20 years I must confess: I do LOVE this City. I have been here 5 times. It happened once in every 4 years...just by chance. I have already started joking: As if to Olympic Games:) There has been said and written so much about this City, that I can hardly add something new: The City of Light, A Moveable Feast - I suppose for everyone, who likes is it's something special. For me it's a place where I always want to return and I never have enough of it - no matter for how long I remain there. Give... continue reading
A few years ago, I had no idea what stock photography even was. I remember the feeling, when the first ones were uploaded and accepted. I remember when they were rejected as well.I love the fact that there is always a reason for that 'little pink slip' and I make it a point to work on the problem with my photography (whether it be technical or creative,) so that I can improve. My photography and travel writing have taken me many places. My favorite adventure so far, was Ireland, where I... continue reading

Venice, Italy Its narrow cobblestoned alleys, hundreds of bridges and iconic canals... continue reading
My wife and I just returned from our second trip to Europe visiting France this time for 11 days. Our main focus was Paris with side trips to the Claude Monet home, Castles of the Loire Valley and the Versailles Palace. We did not have to move from our hotel but found that touring is tiring having to use the public subway system and then walk to various attractions.Needless to say we did a lot of walking. The side tours were bus trips. One thing that stood out is that Paris has spectacular museums... continue reading
