I am not the first nor the last to capture the beauty of this amazing park. Thousands of photographers have taken thousands of images here that are better than mine; even famous photographers like Ansel Adams have taken iconic images that have inspired generations of photographers, here in this park. There’s a reason why; this park is a natural wonderland and, while my images are not as famous or iconic as other images taken here, they tell the story of my own personal experience visiting the park.... continue reading

Last year I was vacationing in California and got to visit Sequoia National Park twice during our stay, taking as many photos as the rest of the (non-photographers) group allowed me to. I loved it.I’m from the Caribbean, I’m used to sandy beaches, sun and warm tropical weather. The park was cool, breezy, full of gigantic green and brown trees, mountains and streams of water snaking between rocks, song birds singing and majestic vistas of the mountains in the distance and... continue reading
Like a politician, on this topic, I tend to flip flop. My thoughts on user or entrance fees can go back and forth quickly, sometimes in the same sentence. Other photographers, amateur or professional, probably have strong opinions, as well. After all, photographing nature and landscapes involves a lot of time spent in parkland. But, what is the value of user fees, both for the land or attraction owner and the user? My opinion has swayed recently actually in favour of user and entrance fees to points... continue reading
Yesterday, Everglades National Park turned 70. It is the most surprisingly beautiful place I have ever had the pleasure of getting to know. I do not know about you, but when I think of a swamp, I think of being sweaty, itchy from bugs and wet from the mud. It did not seem a very inviting landscape. I was very wrong....its majestic. Many of my best photographs have been taken in the marshes behind my home in Florida. It is peaceful, strange and understated.... continue reading
[Manta ray (Manta alfredi) with attendant cleaner fish : OMD E-M1ii and M.Zuiko 8mm Fisheye; Nauticam NA-EM1ii and Zen DP-170 @ ISO64, f4, 1/250s] Mention the Komodo National Park to most people, and they will probably think of Komodo dragons (Varanus komodoensis). Mention it to a diver and they’ll most likely think of strong currents, stunning reefs, abundant big fish and turtles, and then maybe the dragons. Fair-play to the dragons, at up to 3 meters long and over 150 kilos in weight,... continue reading
Vienna was chosen 2017 as the most liveable city - for the 8th year in a row. For those, who wonder why, in my humble opinion, parks are a major factor. Vienna has many and big parks, for every season. Let me show you some:This is Volksgarten with the Burgtheater (National Theater) in the background. Very popular among the tourists and locals, because of the closeness to the city center - Burgtheater, Rathaus, the Burg are all very close, in early summer the smell of roses.. The park... continue reading
I would love to introduce to all of you wonderful Dreamstime compadres a beautiful hidden gem here in East Texas, my stomping grounds.Lake Nacogdoches. It isn't very large, it isn't on the travel agents radar. It just sits quietly, a cobalt blue gem nestled in an emerald green carpet of east Texas pines.Wifey & I went there the other day, just a "one day get away vacay". Very serene & peaceful, due to the fact that although there were other people there, the other... continue reading

Knowing Beihai Park begins with a children's song. The name of the song called《Let us row the oars》. That's a nice song, although I'm an adult, I still remember the lyrics clearly.”The beautiful white pagoda casts its shadow, the beautiful white pagoda casts its shadow”. Today, I came down to the white tower to remember my past and to remember the good times. continue reading
