Within walking distance of my office are several ponds and beaver swamps. This gives me plenty of wildlife and bird photography opportunities without travel expenses! When I’m not too busy, I try to talk a walk every morning and occasional afternoons. With all the spring and early summer rains falling, the briars and undergrowth have really taken off, making it a bit more difficult to get close to some of those more secluded spots. In a moment of inspiration, I decided to keep a pair of branch trimmers... continue reading

Seasons are acting weird this year, for example our winter last year was 2 months non-stop snow and cold, this year we've got a promotion 2 months no snow and cold, just mist and rain. It was like that though, till the end of February when usually the winter ends around here, but not this year. Few days before the end of February, we've got our heavy snowing. It happened for one night Saturday to Sunday, but still at Sunday morning I was the first to get out for a walk at the nearby hill.... continue reading
I’m always excited to notice if my photographs have been viewed – and more so if one is purchased. Predominantly interested in the science behind landscapes and nature, I don't often have models in my images – though I have used them. I don’t pay my models. So far, the thought and conviviality over ‘a sell’ has been enough of an enticement to keep them interested in participating with me in this, my new hobby. As I reach 24 accepted photos on Dreamstime I feel like I’ve climbed Mont Blanc. I set out with my little 350D a year or so ago and thought, ‘this will be easy; point, shoot, submit and perhaps earn a fortune.’In reality I have faced raging storms (of frustration) and avalanches (of rejects). And of course, my Mont Blanc of 24 photos has turned out to be a mere mole hill. Forget the fortune though, my overriding motivation has been that I love taking photos.Which leads me to something... continue reading
