First access permission granted

As I wrote in the previous blog, I started to be an active contributor 2 years after creating my account in 2011. Since April 2011, it seems that the dream is still on. This picture of Amsterdam is my last success story. I have seen this picture from another contributor and from another agency but I couldn't where is the exact location. Later on, I discovered that it is a terrace of a famous hotel. Then, I decided to write an email likely throwing a message in a bottle on the sea... continue reading

Stolen images

You may have heard of the social media sensation @FuckJerry, or perhaps not. I hadn't until I had just read a Forbes magazine interview with the man behind the FuckJerry handle, Elliot Tebele. He seemed like just another guy who is making some waves across well known social media platforms.I was intrigued, and so searched for him on a well known picture sharing site. His account was instantly recognizable, especially since it now has a "verified" tick on it. I scrolled down the posts, mostly... continue reading

Idaho Heritage Continued

Private land that borders public land is often an extension of the public land. It is a natural habit to venture beyond the borders of parks and recreation area. However unless the is a posted agreement between the public land and the private owner, it is best to ask permission from the land owner before crossing the border.  This photo is an example of a public, private owner agreement that works well for all parties concerned. This Photo and Reynold's Creek Mountain both remind me of... continue reading

Few words about the hayloft

Can youn guess why do these hayloft photos mean that much to me? Surrender? Actually this one is easy - starting from this photo session we are counting our days of relationship with Aljona. It should be mentioned that if someone thinks that we asked permission to take pictures in this barn then he is mistaken. On the contrary, we have entered secretly and without permission. Again, in our own style.I couldn't remember where is saw Liza when she came to the test... continue reading

Take Warning Signs Seriously

Living on 55 acres banking a scenic river, with a 270 degree view of a mountain range, we get all kinds of people on our property.Rafters systematically pull up and cut across our pasture to get to the county road, dropping their popped rafts/tubes/floaties/beer bottles and more on our riverbank - and yes, taking the needed bathroom break in the grass (hello, go in the river).Drivers who ignore No Trespassing signs, unhook the gate, shoot out the lock, drive over the fence, whatever... continue reading

mention artist in credits of publication

Or, mention artist in credits of publication, like in the credits page of a CD.There used to be a window on dreamstime that allowed one to say what the art or picture was being used for, etc. I wish to send a note to ALKIR that I am going to use a picture aon a CD cover. Thanks ECW continue reading

How to use everyday models

One of the biggest obstacles you have, when you want to develop your stock photograhpy portfolio, is model release from people you photograph.I found a solution, it may not fit everyone, and some may see it as exposing too much personal information, but for me it was quite simple. I photograph my family. My daughter and wife, are part of my online portfolio.First it's because I find them very photogenic and available models (after all we are living together). The second reason is, that obtaining... continue reading
