Why I'm Obsessed With Abandoned Places

From an early age I had this strange obsession with buildings, and items that had been abandoned by humankind. The more old and overgrown by nature these items were, the more fascinating they became for me. It wasn't until recently that I began to piece the reasoning behind this together. Online searches told me I was not the only one with this 'gothic' obsession, either. It all boils down to four very simple facts. 1. These abandoned things and places represent a very real image of what... continue reading

Night photography.

Not my photo and not quite what I had in mind but on with the blog.I'd seen a few articles about night photography, the stars, milky way etc but another article caught my eye and it had photographs of American towns at night. http://www.bbc.com/news/in-pictures-39040237The pictures looked so good and I thought I'd like to try something like that. Milestone - 500 files online

It was an important step for me, 500 files online, I arrived and in addition I managed more than twenty sales during this month of May and I had several images selected during the assignments. I would see if this is confirmed, to follow .....Below some of my sales and assignment files       continue reading

To Macro or not to Macro

Some years ago I followed a course from a famous Dutch photographer. Well, he won some cool prices, but I didn't know anything about Dies Groot.Until I followed the course that is. And I must say it was great to see so many like-minded people crammed together in one room, talking about photos in general and judging eachother works. I was scared about my showing my work, since - well - I love making photos, but I never considered craeting a job out of it. Luckily for me, they did like my... continue reading

My First Upload

Photography has always been a hobby. But old technology meant expense of films, processing and printing which made this hobby very expensive. But today with the new cameras, I could go back to my hobby with a vengeance.I have been clicking photos at the various places I visit and now have a huge collection. This is my favourite of all the photos in a place called Bhigwan. It was more than a year back and the visit was particularly to spot the pink Flamingos.
