In recent travels I've been making an effort to take portraits of the people I meet.At first I set a goal of 50 different people per trip however, this seemed to cheapen the individual interactions as I'd have to bounce from person to person during any available time. It was a photography workshop about portraits, used 3 kinds of light sources as u see in the pictures:we used Back light, rim light and fill light.most of the pictures were taken with the existence of the 3 sources of light to picture the portraits - of some women in veil or hejab or hair, i adjusted the colors, made the face look more white, instead of yellow (cast), the result didnt come out as i wanted but it was the 1st workshop of that kind. some of them were silhouettes of the face... continue reading

Well my Sigma 24-70 f2.8 came and I was super excited to put it through it's paces.I bought it second hand as the Canon 24-70 f2.8 is still a little above my fireplace.So...early early on a Sunday morning I got up and headed out to the marina after having to get written permission from the yacht club and also the governing body of the harbour.That took me a full hour on the Friday.Make a note that when you do go to the harbour to make sure that you have permission to do so.... continue reading
