Autumn and winter are almost arriving. We need to be prepared. Of course we can do great photos of orange and brown leaves or patterns of snow. But the issue is other: avoid sadness and depression caused by the lack of light and the weather.Buy some colorful clothes, (re)start an activity, make/renew contact with friends, enroll in some adult education course. Keep yourself occupied, social and positive !Time will pass, we need to know what to do with it. Spring and summer will come... continue reading

I think that everybody needs inspiration from time to time. I live in Ukraine, last haft a year has been very tough here. I was exhausted emotionally, did not see any positive tendencies, did not find any source for inspiration to take pictures. But then I read Wisconsinart’s blog about earning $20,000 for 5 years of microstocking. That experience shows that if you are fascinated by the things you love and dedicate your time to it, it brings you back not only fun, but also earnings. The point... continue reading
This is a milestone blog for me and I am silly, giddy, ridiculous happy. You'd think I won a gigantic lottery jackpot and my own private island, and figured how to manifest world peace, I'm so pleased with myself. You see, after a little more than three years, my earnings balance finally reached payout level, and in the most bizarre and enlightening of ways for me. I am growing!Just over three weeks ago, I was having a rough time in life, and had been, for a couple of months, actually. It... continue reading
So, I've just hit a year on Dreamstime, and what a year it's been! After being exclusive on another agency for over 7 years, it was a huge decision for me to change over, but I have been most pleasantly surprised with the subsequent sales here for my first year.I've really enjoyed getting to know the staff and fellow contributors on DT, it is a wonderful place to share and learn and a very happy community to be a part of.I have no regrets whatsoever in making that big decision to change over,... continue reading
Last week I sold my first PE-L.Nice surprise for me and beside my latest earnings I would not be so pesimistic regarding microstoc future, as I could read recently in some blogs. Of course, the gold time has been probably gone, but further it depends on every photographer- what he / she expects from the cooperation, time he / she can spend with this activity and the ability to do pictures better, more creative, in other words different. At the end of June 2011 I reached my first 100 dollars... continue reading
I wrote and article a while back about having a poor start to the month of August, not poor in sales terms but poor in terms of creativity and ideas for me...Well things have not gpot a great deal better but have been looking back through my portfolio and some of my earlier images and realised that things can't be all that bad!I tend not to travel too far to take pictures, my limit is Budapest which is where my 350th image was taken which was accepted today. So all of my images were pretty... continue reading

Recently one of our DT members asked me “out of curiosity: why are you so active in the forum but have a small portfolio. . . . . .”A good question.Georges' observation is very true. I have been on DT for 6 months and do actively take part in most of the forums and do write blogs at times. It is good to interact with the other members. It also improves the chance of your uploads getting noticed one way or the other.I will give you an example. There is this Free Discussion (... continue reading
