Dreamstime is an organisation in its' own right. It is a commercial digital media library providing digital media assets and licences to use them. It sources its' collection from a large number of contributors under a contributor agreement that sees contributors agreeing to allow Dreamstime to sublicense and distribute their works in exchange for a portion of the income dreamstime collects from its' customers. Dreamstime sees the stock in its' catalogue as its' stock under this agreement.... continue reading

Hi folks,I’m well on my way of my first target of having 50 of my images accepted onto Dreamstime - still a long way to go I know, but I am getting there. Now onto my next target; to have my first sale.Beside the usual way of Tweeting, Pinterest and Facebook to promote my images I occasionally write about them on my blog.At the same time I also make sure I promote the Dreamstime website as well, because there are so many wonderful photographers and portfolios on site, that I just find... continue reading
If you already have an approved portfolio with photographs that means that you are qualified and that the quality of your photos are satisfying. Is it worth it to just sit and wait for it to happen all by itself? I do not think so. Always and at every step you make an effort to help the promotion of your photos. I am absolutely sure that you are using or Iphone or Android smartphone, and if you have not already done so, immediately install Dreamstime application for your phone. With this... continue reading
My first blog here (though I've got, like, five elsewhere!) but I just want to chronicle my experience on Dreamstime. Starting out hopeful, although I did send a question off to admin to ask if I have to do my own marketing and the answer was yes. So, maybe I'll put these photos ups and they'll sit here and no one will see them, because I might be a great photographer (and novelist!) but I SUUUUUUUCK at self-promotion!Hey, I'm a Southern woman, bred, born and raised, and we don't DO self promo so... continue reading
I want to share something from my statistics: "41 users were referred by you. 6 photographers were referred by you. 1 buyers were referred by you. 1 payment plans were purchased."This was done in the last year by using Google+, Google blog, Twitter and Facebook. This kind of promotion takes me about 1-2 hour/day. The result in terms of $ earnings is low, but maybe some day a big photographer or a big buyer will be referred by me. Wish me luck, I wish you too. King out and over. Have a nice day,... continue reading

Pinterest is a new and quickly evolving entity.Basically an infant social networking site trying to find its place in the world. One of its biggest challenges is dealing with copyright issues and finding a way to make money.Currently it is making money via affiliate links. For example if you post a photo of the Nikon D800 under your "I gotta have" board, Pinterest adds a link to Amazon.com and if someone buys it via the link, they make a commission.Recently Pinterest updated their terms... continue reading
From Pinterest's blog:"You can now find a Pinterest button in the Flickr share menu to easily pin everything that you can share via Flickr, including photo pages, favorites, and groups. If you pin frequently, the Pin It button will show as one of the two shortcuts directly on the photopage.Attribution appears below the pin’s description and provides a permanent link to the work, its author, and where they host their content. Because attribution cannot be edited, photographers can rest assured... continue reading
