I have just reviewed some of the most popular images as selected by our users during 2007. I’ll first discuss what I learned about illustrations and then next week the lessons from the most popular themes/images captured in photographs. Some of my findings surprised me and I hope they will inspire you to create fresh images. Fair warning though: an image may be popular for a variety of reasons that aren’t necessarily the subject, the composition or the keywords. These are the key points but by... continue reading

It’s a fact business images that work seldom ******** from the predictable: business teams, meetings, handshakes, office collaboration and portraits. Within these scenarios you should always try to move ahead by updating wardrobe and props as your images evolve. The button-down era isn't over but nor does it dominate business dress as in the past. Dress codes in the high tech business arepretty much out the window. Younger workers prefer to dress more in business casual than in uptight... continue reading

Related businesses such as health insurance companies, physical therapists, large health care... continue reading
Hotels in major business centers and cities empty out on weekends as do resorts in slow seasons. As a result many promote packages geared to special groups/interests in order to fill empty rooms. One of the fastest growing hotel and tour packages is for women only. Men have always had hunting, fishing or camping trips but us girls have had to settle for weekends alone if we couldn’t or wouldn’t tag along on treks with the goal ofkilling a large mammal. We began noticing an increase in requests... continue reading
I will continue with providing tips and examples from my hands-on experience with your images. Beware, here I come, I have my grades prepared and they rank from one to ten. I will proceed as announced also adding other experiences I came across in my ramblings through the site. Today – I feel over-teacherly here :P – we are going to discuss about: why does my image and the keywords attached have very little in common? Pay attention as this has serious consequences for your portfolios and accounts.... continue reading
This is the final article in the series on Top Travel Spots. (Don’t neglect the list of Do’s and Don’ts at the end of this blog). When your location includes great diving spots like the warm waters of the Bay Islands of Honduras, consider shooting underwater. Shooting underwater takes more than having an underwater casing for your camera. Like with any photo, light is the biggest challenge. Colors disappear very quickly as you descend. Red goes first at about 15 feet. Orange is next at between... continue reading

There are some composition tricks that apply to stock photography specifically. As more and more image use migrates to the web, the old stock photo rule of leaving room for type is becoming less significant. It is becoming replaced with approaches that enhance an image’s visibility at the thumbnail size and on web pages. Images with a square format gain maximum space in returned search results. The space allocated for each individual thumbnail is always large enough to allow for maximum width and... continue reading
