A Warm September Sunday at Corfe Castle UK

A Warm September SundayIam lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful corners of the earth, in the South of England. It doesn’t matter where you live in this country, you do not have to travel far to find somewhere of interest. It is steeped in History and boasts the most diverse and beautiful coastline.I have had my brother staying with me for a while and he, unlike my husband, is interested in photography, although not quite as much as me.I don’t often have the opportunity... continue reading

Infrared images and the Fuji X-Pro 1

Not long after the Fuji X-Pro 1 was released, infrared photography aficionados found that with a few hacks, the system could yield very decent infrared images. Around the same time as well, I was researching if I could replace my current DSLR rig with the X-Pro 1 for travel photography. Infrared photography was not part of my portfolio yet, but if, with a relatively modest investment, I could do so, all the more the better.I did my research here and added the following to my equipment stack and... continue reading

Creating the IR colour effect using photoshop

I recently posted about IR photography. After some searching on the net I found a tutorial that can create the Infrared colour photo effect using Photoshop. But it uses Channel Mixer, which Photoshop Elements 9 does not have. This technique doesn't produce the same effect that true IR does because apparently Photoshop can't recognise the areas that have different reflections.Still, if you have Photoshop CS5 this might give you something to use for fun or however you choose.I'm looking for... continue reading

IR Photography, any other way of creating this?

I read an article on Infrared Photography aka IR Photography.Filters are difficult to get and very expensive.Has anyone achieved a similar, although probably not as perfect, effect with software or using other equipment? And no lol, I won't be stripping my camera and making it a only IR.Although I did hear that some of the older SLR's allow for it?I could get a second hand SLR, but I don't know.Any opinions on this? For anyone else who doesn't know what IR Photography is take... continue reading

Clothing sizes - A good idea?

I had the idea to draw an illustration with all clothing sizes that are available. Starting at xsmall and going to xxlarge. I draw t-shirts and then I made a colorful set of the sizes. I used strong and harmonic colours as you can see in the picture. My pic was accepted and appeared soon in the database. Then I searched after "clothing sizes" to see what photos and illustrations there already are...To my surprise I did not found many pics that cover this topic. Or am I blind? :DSo I hope... continue reading

Tips On Infrared Photography

Shooting infrared with digital is much different from my early black & white/darkroom days. But, in some respects is somewhat similar, because you still have a thick filter to shoot through. So a tripod is an absolute necessity if you want good, quality (noise free) images. Plants and trees are the most striking components while using infrared. Green leaves tend to reflect more of the infrared wavelengths than that of flesh or masonry. Keep that in mind, and remember that the images will come up ... continue reading

One of a kind

More than 8 million pictures in the data base of Dreamstime, and I am the only one with pictures of a red titi monkey! I did a search to see what kind of photo's already are online, but to my surprise the search came up with nothing. Only 2 pictures of a titi monkey are available, but not the red titi monkey. If you know a zoo nearby with red titi monkey's, go there and shoot!! ( with your camera of course.....) continue reading
