You are gonna notice that I blog a lot about Monty, our Great Dane..because...well....he is the only family member that we have that can eat food, off the center of our dining room table whilst standing 3 rooms away...There are many things that are funny about this 10 month old Dane...many you will be able to read about on here..but one in particular is his security blanket...when he is feeling needy, he will grab up his leopard print bankie...we will know that he is cold or just needs comfort and... continue reading

I have the opportunity to live in a vast country that stretches from the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans and my work will on occasion have me travel from one side to the other.A fellow worker also an avid photographer knew that I was heading to the province of Alberta in the area of Calgary and assumed that I would be going to the Banff National Park amongst the Canadian rocky mountain range, having been there in the past I knew that the province had more to offer and therefore decided to look... continue reading

Drabble: Read All About It

I am pulp faction. Tomorrow, I will be discarded, pulped or worse. Today, I’m headed west, picked up for a few coins and carried with him, this hangover morning, tucked under his business-clad arm.Journeying, he rests me on my front and lingers on my back while his head bangs and pores ooze residual alcohol from Thursday’s lash. Riffling to page three, his gaze scorches the brazen, bare-breasted beauty as mizzle darkens the day. There’s no hint of a sunshine lunch and scant chance to raise... continue reading

So, you have the tools, you have the skills, you have the time. What else do you need in order to be successful in stock photography? The concepts! Concept photography is the best selling stock photography. But which concepts to shoot? How to find inspiration? One option would be to browse the website for most popular stock photos, you'll find some great concepts there, but that won't help you much. Read those rejection notices

For those of you that are new to DT, make sure that you read the rejection notices. My last three rejections came with notices that said I could fix the image and resubmit.I read the notice, fixed the images, just a little bit of contrast and brightness adjustment, and now 2 of the 3 are part of my portfolio and 1 is in the queue awaiting review. What could have been 2 more rejections turned out to be 2 more uploads and I saved my approval ratio from going down. continue reading

Anyone wants to try to take water in action? I must say I took a long time to get this right. My first image was rejected for incorrect exposure. It was hard for me to take this image at night with the toilet lights on, so I waited til day to take this shot.I had a problem. There was no place for me to put my gorillapod. I was literally holding onto my breath, trying to take a shot in one hand while flushing the toilet in the other. The results were... you know...Then I had an idea. I brought... continue reading
