I'd like to share some of the background of this photo.Dr. Henry Heimlich was 59 and quite nationally known, getting wide media coverage for his popular and successful technique (the Heimlich Maneuver) of abdominal thrusts which became a life-saving technique for stopping choking. It was July, 1979, and I was working with Chicago's then Office for Senior Citizens and Handicapped.I attended the annual Illinois Department on Aging convention, held in Peoria, to gather information and to... continue reading

Now all over the world are in the implementation of green energy saving and environmental protection in urban traffic system, urban rail transit is the city of aortic, I went to watch the world of urban rail transit, Tokyo, New York, London, Paris, Beijing, Guangzhou... One theme that has no photos enough is money. If a journalist writes about government spending or personal finance, he or she needs some photo with money to the article. When a bank or insurance company makes it´s commercial presentation, it needs also some photo with money. The potential is huge.Sometimes is needed photo only with money. There may depend on currency also but sometimes is enough to use e.g. just coins.Sometimes the designer needs for... continue reading
This last Spring we were able to take the trip of a lifetime to the Cook Islands in the South Pacific - and it was paid for entirely with photography money. It wasn't all stock money (not even close), but it was sports teams, High School Seniors, Family Portraits and fine art sales. It took a year of savings, but with the goal of this trip in mind, it gave us the energy to keep going. The Cook Islands is a remarkable location, poised as Hawaii was 50 years ago. They are not kidding... continue reading
is reshoot wasting time?this is a question many of us , i am sure, asked ourselves sometimes.we made a little "boo boo" and find our work in question. do we have the objectivityto say , "no, this won't do", to ourselves.it's not easy to destroy what you created. we are too attached to what we create.photography is not unlike parenthood. lol..it's about accountability. and many times, the timewe avoid the accountability we actually waste even more time trying to save the tragedy... continue reading
These are fairly basic ideas, but as photographers and designers we tend to get so excited about the location of the shoot that we forget that we don't actually have to stay in the immediate area. This applies mostly to city travel. We try to choose cities that have good inexpensive public transportation.Recently, on a trip to New York to visit our daughter, we stayed in Brooklyn and had a delightful stay. She found us a fairly new budget motel in a block of all night tire shops. It turned out... continue reading
The biggest illustration I found on DT is that one. I thought what is the point to create such big image and then I realized that when I buy it in maximum size it will gave me more opportunities.Subject of this image is peoples with big plugs outline black, buying seven illustration would cost me seven credits in small web version but buying this maximum size image I would have seven large illustration (not so large as original but still big) and it will cost only 4 credits. That is some savings.... continue reading
