Hi!After reading some of the blogs here I want to tell you my microstock story, about exploding to 2000€/month then zero microstock income and finally restarting the microstock business again. My name is Amir and I am part of the microstock business since 2007.At the end of 2006 a friend of mine told me about earning 500$ at a microstock agency. Before that, I did never hear about microstock. He was contributing to one of the first micros and was quite successful with about... continue reading

I love all aspects of photography especially learning new things and challenging myself to create new images. When I first began in photography about 25 years ago, it was very difficult to change or alter what you captured.I shot mainly slide films for publishing.Pretty much what you shot is what you got. There were no second chances. When I first started selling stock photos, I was to a small degree, still in this same mindset.I mean, I would occasionally clone out a distracting branch... continue reading

Before shooting something especially for stock, you need to imagine how those images could be used. If you can find a few possible uses, you’re on the right track. It could help if you ask yourself: “Would I pay for photos on this subject?” If you’re not sure,... continue reading

These are my very personal thoughts and experiences about DT's option to have images re-keyworded for the fee of $ 0,60 per image. Is this worth it or not ?Well, let's agree on that even the "greatest image at all" will not sell if no one notice it. Once a image passed the editors and is online at DT, we basically can consider this image as ok. However, this is no guaranty to sell any license..., not even a subscription-based one.So...regardless of expression or any commercial potential... continue reading
I have often asked myself this question... Is the answer; People; Exotic Locations; Rare Images; Concepts; Editorials; Landscapes; Strange Objects; etc? Well, I can certainly confirm that my experience thus far (especially now I have just hit the magic 200 sales!!!) suggests all of the above to be true... Yes - I can personally confirm that I have sold lots of sports... I have sold faces - White, African, etc...... continue reading
