I recently posted about IR photography. After some searching on the net I found a tutorial that can create the Infrared colour photo effect using Photoshop. But it uses Channel Mixer, which Photoshop Elements 9 does not have. This technique doesn't produce the same effect that true IR does because apparently Photoshop can't recognise the areas that have different reflections.Still, if you have Photoshop CS5 this might give you something to use for fun or however you choose.I'm looking for... continue reading

When modern, digital HDR photography hit the scene a few years back, it quickly became all the rage. It was now an easy prospect to capture gorgeous sky-scapes and dramatic still life images; balanced lighting was not just the arena of the pro.But is it just me, or has it gone way too far? I am really getting tired of HDR these days... so many photos look "over-Photoshopped" and lose any veracity, in my opinion. What happened to capturing an image they way it actually appeared? Is there going... continue reading

A month ago I installed new plug-ins to my PS CS4. Namely, StarSpikes Pro 2 Filter(from ProDigital Software), Knoll Light Factory(from Red Giant Software), and set of filtersfrom Flaming Pear (of which filters Flexity, Flood, Melancholytron, Glitterato and some others are my favorite ones).I like them much since they allow me to create excellent effects. And so, I have been playing with these plug-ins for several weeks and finally new collection in my portfolio appeared - Things Made out... continue reading
There are several ways to sharpen your images. Some of these techniques re good and others not so much. I have found that using the unsharp mask filter is ok but can lead to an even more noisy image if overdone. So after doing a little searching I found a technique that is called, High Pass sharpening and you use it like this:1) Make a layer copy of the background layer and then make the background layer invisible. This way you can revert back to the original if a mistake is made.2) Do all... continue reading

Like these ones:=================================================================================================They are sold more or less succesfully and so, recently I decided to expand the collection. Today 3 new images have been approved (3 from 3). Here they are:I plan to continue this work using PhotoSHop and very effective sets of plugins. Namely, FLAMING PEAR which represends... continue reading

A few days ago, I wanted to give myself a try on my first isolated image. I've been using some youtube examples on how to take and postprocess "isolated on white" images and finally I have done it.First I needed to do is to create some sort of low budget lightning studio, cause I did not have one, so I used about 25 years old table lamp with 100w light bulb (6800K), some white paper for background, tissue paper for diffusing light to get soft shadows and some home made light bouncers.After... continue reading
Ok, I am a real novice when it comes to templates from Dreamstime...you know the ones with "Sample Text Here" written all across cool graphics. Is there a way to edit that text in Photoshop? How do you tackle that problem? I really like some of the website templates, but the text all over them keeps me from downloading. Any advice would be awesome! continue reading
