The archipelago of the Egadi islands, from the Latin Aegates , is located in the western part of Sicily, opposite the stretch of coastline that stretches between Trapani and Marsala. Among the three major islands (Favignana and Levanzo other), Marettimo is the furthest from the coast. It's only about an hour by hydrofoil, starting from Trapani. From now Marettimo welcomes the traveler with all its splendor. The sun's rays projected onto the green-blue sea create infinite reflections almost hypnotic.... continue reading
"The Strait of Messina is a place across the border, that "originates infinite." And it is there where the border becomes less clear that creeps the myth, destabilizing the man's eyes and pushing beyond reality, in the domain of the imagination."The myth that most characterizes the Strait is that of "Scylla and Charybdis", a metaphor of the drifts, the vortices, of the landing at the bottom of that now send the traveler, now bring him back to the surface, grip him always in the grip of uncertainty.... continue reading
Ok, I must be honest... in this article is a double challenge. The first one is food-photography as the title says. The other one is writing correct english in this blog... I hope you'll understand me.despite my poor equipment. The images were taken with a Canon 300D (only 6.3 Mpx give little margin for cropping), the standard 18-55 lens (a macro would give better results) and the natural window light (no studio light altough now I have a self-made directional lamp). I find it's funny to play with... continue reading
Hi everyone,I'd like to show you some pictures taken on the island of Sicily and Aeolian (Lipari) Islands, which are located in the north of Sicily. First, I want to talk a little bit about Sicily. You can visit there the mount Etna - the largest volcano in Europe. It reaches the height of about 3350 m. a.s.l. It can be considered to be the most active volcano in the world. You can go on a hike or use a cable way and then a vehicle, which brings you up. If you are lucky, you will have a wonderful... continue reading

The Valley of Temples is an archaeological site which dates back to the ancient Greek period. It is settled near Agrigento, in Sicily – southern Italy. In reality, the term ‘valley’ is a misnomer because the site is situated on a ridge outside Agrigento. The excavation and the restoration of the temples have been done due to the efforts of Domenico Antonio Lo Faso Pietrasanta (1783-1863), an archaelogist who was the Duke of Serradifalco from 1809 through 1812.This enchanting place is considered... continue reading
