Hello Dreamstimers! It's me again, long time no see. This time, I would like to share with you my new equipment. A 18-50 mm f/2.8 Sigma lens that is just outstanding in every possible way considering the low cost. I even purchased mine used for about 220$!The main reason why I decided to buy this lens was because of my new and growing interest in event photography, more specifically nightclub photography. Now, there are a lot better lenses out there for this purpose but the 18-50mm Sigma... continue reading

What I think about the difference of Sigma Sigma 50mm and 105mm macro lenses is that with Sigma EX 105 / 2,8 DG OS HSM Macro avoids the insects fly away when you do not have to go so close to the object. After that you get a little more Dof dots out of focus when shooting with a higher focal value. continue reading
So happy with my Sigma EX 105 / 2,8 DG OS HSM Macro has-made a number of photo shoots in different environments and this is freehand, and I'm amazed at how well I have been with this amazing lens is an affordable lens .Well worth taking a look at, to be an interesting summer with a lot of macro photography. Flowers and insects, best regards Tommy Hammarsten 2016 continue reading
A short while ago my balance went over the magic $100 for the first time and I was able to request a payout. I put the money towards a lens I have been wanting for some time, a Sigma 10-20mm zoom. This is the first image from that lens to be accepted on Dreamstime. Not content with just the one purchase I yesterday ordered a Nikon DX 40mm micro. That arrived this morning - I have not even opened the box yet. I bought that for the macro facility, and also for the lightness and image quality... continue reading
Well my Sigma 24-70 f2.8 came and I was super excited to put it through it's paces.I bought it second hand as the Canon 24-70 f2.8 is still a little above my fireplace.So...early early on a Sunday morning I got up and headed out to the marina after having to get written permission from the yacht club and also the governing body of the harbour. That took me a full hour on the Friday.Make a note that when you do go to the harbour to make sure that you have permission to do so.... continue reading
Wondered, why VR (Vibration Reduction) had different names and were little, confused when I saw that there were different names on different brands. so I googled a bit and found this!Same technology, different brand names.Pretty much the same technology under different acronyms.....probably due to trademark infringementVR (vibration reduction) is Nikon's trademark name for stabilization. Canon's is IS or "Image Stabilizer. Same thing from different brands.Canon Image Stabilization IS... continue reading
I have been very quiet on the photography front for a few monhs, winter was brutal and cold and planting season is always very busy! However I have taken some of my macrostock earnings and invested in a couple of new lenses, the Tamron 17-50mm f.8 and the Sigma 50mm f2.8 Macro...I have reviewed the Sigma on my Website and have to admit to being incredibly impressed, I'm aware that macro images do not sell massively on stock but I love shooting iny things so it works for me and if I make a few... continue reading
Well recently I sold some images and the money I received from DT helped me to buy three gears.I bought a SB 600 Flash, don't know if it was the right choice of external flash compared to SB 800 but the price range in Dubai market was half the price of SB 800.I also purchased two UV filter Sigma 62mm & Sigma 67mmI also purchased cleaning kit for lens and cameraFriends were all these shopping worth or did I waste my money or could have purchased anything else, other than these gears.... continue reading
A blog dedicated to my experiences using both Sony and Minolta and 3rd party lenses on my Sony DSLR's (A350 and A700).I hope to provide some insight into what kinds of newer as well as older lenses are good for stock photography. For example, this image below was taken with my A700 and a Minolta MD 50mm F1.7 with a macro MD-AF adapter and a +4 diopter. The whole set-up cost me about 50.00 and does a pretty good job with macro images. This one was shot at F22.For those who want a decent... continue reading
