Today Dreamstime team removed one of my approved image(approved few months ago) by sending me a message that it was accidentally approved and it is very similar to the other existing photo. Both photo were taken from different anglesof the same heritage building and have different elements. Although Dreamstime owns full right of accepting or removing the image but I like to know the views to fellow members regarding both of the images.Following is the existing imageHere is the thumbnail... continue reading

As a new contributor here, when I was in the first 50 uploads on DT, I was uploading stuff I should not have. I had always considered a beautiful red rose photo I had shot as my best ever shot. I uploaded among the very first uploads only to find it rejected.Guess the reason? We already have similar images in our database and your submission doesn't exceed existing images in quality or composition. Or something like that.A brutal punch in the face, a sky high contributor with a castle in the... continue reading
Hello to everybodyI need an information. One of the photos that I have uploaded have been refused beacuse I have uploade too many photos on the same subject or from the same series. And DT suggested me to create sets of similars (several shots included within the same image). But I don't know how can I do it. Somebody can help me or give me an advice?Thank for your adviceAndrea continue reading
So, did you know that if you click on the tilte of a photo, it will let you find similar photos based on the title? Is it public knowledge or did I just discover yet another thing in DT?I can't decide whether it's better (with examples):a- for the title to be so specific that no other competing photos can be found when a buyer clicks the title of the photo:b- to put a general title so that if the buyer clicks the title of a similar photo, you get more chances... continue reading
Just my two cents in the whole similarity discussion: not a proposal, just a reflection about it and some possible practical ways out of it. It's just that lately I noticed 2 batches of similar images can be very different regarding their similarity ;-)The hardest thing won’t be applying this to future submissions, but to get rid of the ‘historic’ similar uploads…Here we go ;-)1.Are there duplicates in this batch of “similar images”?YES → limit number of duplicates to... continue reading
Those of you who has followed my blog will know that most recently I have attained my first Level 3 image . This is the one shown here aside .I also noticed that as the Level increases, the earning for each download increases accordingly. An XS which used to be 1 credit, jumps to 3 , then to 5 ,etc..This may seem unimportant to those who are selling a lot here and there via quantity portfolio. But for someone like myself, who is unable to mass produce stock photos, due to the lack of time... continue reading

A while ago I had one of two images refused because they were two shots of the same subject with just small change in the angle of the shot. I was dissappointed, even angry! Those two images had been accepted everywhere else... how could that be!Now, a short time after this, I have a level two image and I just hope it keeps selling. It has to be the fastest level two I´ve ever got (out of the very few I have - I´m still just a newbie to stock photography). So if the other image had been... continue reading
Very often, good images are refused based on similarity issues. Contributors submit technically perfect(and usually sellable) images and get frustrated when they are refused.Imagine a boy laughing photographed. One image should be enough, not ten of them. No matter if the photographer moved 2 meters to the left, the concept is still the same.Similar images in Dreamstime's acceptance represent the content that fits a single concept, has small variations in composition OR model expression.... continue reading
