Humor Sexy Cute Football Economy

Who won football’s Super Bowl? In my world there is more interest in what ads were more successful than news of the game itself. Which commercials resonated the most with the target audiences? Which ones garnered kudos from creatives at the top agencies? And which ones might give you some shooting ideas?Spend some time reviewing the ads and you’ll see that you can piggyback on the research that went into the themes and trends in the ads to come up with some ideas for yourself.I spent... continue reading

Is Your Photography Art?

There is a continuing dust up between those who claim that commercial photography isn’t art and that the photos in museums and galleries shouldn’t be sullied by appearing in promotions or ads. Not withstanding the fact that most photographers that fall into the ‘collectible’ category of fine artists have at one time done commercial work. The popular blog from commercial art buyer Heather Morton has taken on this conversation over the past few weeks. Look for the Art/Commerce blogs. She... continue reading

Retro and Recession

In the US housing prices are still falling, the stock market is as bumpy as a dirt road and more difficult to navigate, a credit crisis is the big news everyday and the dollar has sunk below the Canadian Looney in value. (Gotta love a country that calls its dollar coin a Looney). A recession in the US looms say the soothsayers. So what does this all mean for Dreamstime and photography in general?Want some good news?According to an issue of the New York Times last week the good news is... continue reading

What is She Wearing?

Wardrobe is key to a professional looking image. And the type of clothing that a model is wearing can enhance the salability of an image in more ways than one. Here is a terrific image of a teen writing on the board in her classroom. The model's top gives a clue to the season: it is clothing that would only be worn in very warm weather. And since school is usually associated with the cooler seasons in most parts of the Northern hemisphere at least, the image usage could be limited if... continue reading

Week with Micro Four Thirds Panasonic GH5

Dear fellow Dreamstimers,   I would like to mark my milestone of first thousand uploaded photos and first accepted 4K video with something practical, not just with set of pictures from my portfolio. Anyway, thousand pictures online doesn't mean thousand good pictures, only thousand pictures that meet the criteria od Dreamstime standards.Better milestone to celebrate in my opinion is thousand sold pictures (hat goes down for all Dreamstime contributors that allready made it !), because... continue reading

Rotterdam Central Station: post-processing

The Dutch Railways realises that railway stations form an important part of the center of cities. I guess that is one of the reasons that the architecture of the railway stations is regarded as extremely important. Rotterdam Central Station is no exception. It was officially opened in March 2014. A year later I took this picture.  It is one of my best selling pictures, especially in 2015. The most recent sales was this week. Here the original picture, it was taken with my Nikkor 16-35mm... continue reading

I´m taking photos for Dreamstime already 6 years. But I have never tried to upload video. Actually, I have tried to make a video just few times at all. I prefer taking the moment. But...It´s few weeks ago and I was taking pictures with two models (my wife and my neighbor). Then they started to make some exercising yoga poses. And sometimes they failed :-).
