Shooting people is hard. Subjects who are not used to have their picture taken are usually uneasy about spending time with a photographer. Even people with some experience being photographed don't enjoy it that much. I feel that some discomfort is necessary to make the picture more interesting but from my experience the subjects usually relax after couple of minutes. I haven't written a blog or contributed many images for ages. Due to my daughter getting married, (I'm banned from putting images on line!!) and mainly, moving house. Having emptied the house of 4 offspring we decided to go for the traditional bungalow in an English village. In beautiful surroundings it has suddenly occurred to me how limited nature photography is.. Our images, stunning though some of them are, can never capture those other senses. That warm breeze on the cheek, the soft... continue reading

If you been shooting images for any amount of time you are certainly familiar with f-stops and apertures. The f-stop is a ratio between the focal length of a lens and the size of the physical aperture opening in the lens. The longer the lens (telephoto) the larger the physical aperture size to maintain a similar exposure.A related concept from the motion picture industry is the concept of the t-stop.This is related to a f-stop, in that they both have the same physical size and depth of... continue reading

My sales have almost stopped, but I have just over 1000 images online ... It is the fault of the crisis? or maybe my portfolio is very poor? Should I start a little to reflect. I think DT is a good place to put your pictures online, my photos are viewed, but despite purchases are very low, almost non-existent.I continue to send photos in the hope that it will be accepted and increase my visibility but I see that there is nothing ... and it must be the economic crisis!!!Maybe I have to start changing... continue reading

How can you mark/report spam blog post, when you see it?I really wonder, why there is no option in posts to mark it as a spam. We have options to share, to email to friend ....Why do I ask this question? Well, I just opened new article "Seo" from another member (don't want to name), who has of course no uploads, no purchases, just a message post .... and this is clearly SPAM. A few words, someone else's picture and link to outside website. Of course, I didn't like it, so I wanted to report... continue reading
