As it is known, at photographic shooting of any object it is important to open its sense, the internal maintenance. Interior subjects in this respect are not an exception: important not simply to show object in a shot, but also to show to the spectator all its major properties. It also has been made by me in the course of subject shooting - a green sphere with cavities inside. That the sphere has begun to sparkle in beams of studio flash, slanting light falling at the left has been chosen. Well... continue reading

Autumn. A time of the year I'm not particularily fond of, except when the Sun is shining, revealing the wonderful colors of the trees preparing for the Winter ahead.Unfortunately, the Sun decided not to be around in the last days, and all we got was rain, fog, and uniform grey skies. The weather forecast for the weekend is much better though, and maybe I'll be able to take some stock-worthy shots from les Diablerets, in the Swiss Alps. And if the Sun changes its plans for the weekend, I can... continue reading
Unfortunately I don't have real studio,it is just improvised studio with table lamps and white mat paper. But think for my first time it was ok,and I hope it would be better.I used two lamps covered with white paper and lighting bulb of 5400K and 30W.For picturing model I used one lamp positioned little above my head on right side of model, and second was on the left side little beyond the model. It was cloudy so I opened my windows to catch natural light. It quite same for picturing note paper, only I... continue reading
You may think it's easy to model, I know I did until I had my first studio shoot. Before the shoot I really believed modelling was about standing there and looking pretty, maybe giving a few poses, what could be so difficult about that? It's not easy!! These models must go to bed early before a shoot, wake up early, and start to prepare their skin, hair, face etc for the upcoming shoot. Once they arrive, straight into hair and make-up, where they might have to sit for over an hour getting their... continue reading

See the construction lights on the left here, they are a thing of the past for those new to microstock. Hey they are cheap, A set at Bunnings or Home Depot is probably just under $25.A warning though, they get damn hot. And change the bulbs to quality bulbs. But no matter what you do, that horrible halogen yellow is virtually impossible to get rid of.GOOD NEWS.I have been in contact with one of the major manufacturers of studio flash gear in China. These kits are normally badged with "... continue reading

Hi there,Well I've had a couple of images accepted from my first attempt with a light tent so I am quite pleased.I mostly take shots of landscapes and nature but I thought I would give something new a try.I bought a very cheap light tent and lights so I wasn't sure that my set up would be good enough but the end results weren't too bad.I found it quite difficult to get the correct white balance and I think this would be improved if I invest in some proper light bulbs...the ones I was using... continue reading
