My time with Dreamstime

In July 2008 I started uploading pictures that seemed perfect and beautifulbut to my dismay they were all rejected. Still I didn't give up. Finally one of my photographs which was uploaded on 19-07-2008 was accepted on 24-7-2008 (ID:5805196). So excited, I kept trying my luck.More rejections than acceptance. On 17-8-2008 I was more excited when the first download (ID:58051960) happened with 3 credits. Until the end of June 2014 I had only 41 accepted images with 92 downloads.I was very reluctant... continue reading

The Golden Age of Stock is Over but there is Still Gold to be Found

Critics of microstock will tell you that the microstock business is a race to the bottom and a waste of time. And you know what? They're right! When microstock first began, it was a boom for those who got in early. Contributors were making tons of money mainly because there wasn't much competition. I would liken the early days of microstock to a gold rush. 100 uploads... at last

It was started back on October 2008. After many readings about this weird "microstock" things on many blogs, I decided to give it a shot and applied as a contributor here at DT. So, I jumped in! I want to experience it!I scraped a bunch of images of mine and started picking up what I thought were good and artistic... continue reading

If at first you don't succeed

A question was raised recently in one of the blog articles I read, whether or not a rejected file should be re-submitted once it had been rejected. The image shown below was one of those images that at first, was rejected, and then resubmitted once the corrections had been made according to the DT editors recommendations. Not that I have many bragging rights when it comes to sales figures, but this image is now my best selling image (2 sales in a short time online – told you I don’t have brag... continue reading

If at first you don't succeed...

This has always been a favorite photo of mine, but probably more because I remember the taking of the photo so vividly. It was taken in Guam, which at the time was very humid (I'm not sure when it isn't!).I was working there for a week and had a view of this beautiful sunset from where I was staying. The first time I saw it I rushed out of my air conditioned hotel to take the photo, only to quickly realize my camera was now completely fogged up.It took a long time to clear up, and the sunset... continue reading
