Since reading an article in the internet about the clear water of Verzasca River in Ticino, Switzerland, I have wanted to go there to shoot some pictures.I live in Geneva so the trip took me about 5 hours to reach Lavertezzo, the place where they say the water is so clear that you can see the river bed 20-30 feet under from the surface.I already have a Canon G1X, and I invested a few hundred CHF to buy its underwater casing to enable to capture underwater images. I figure that its good to... continue reading

What makes this lake so breathtakingly beautiful is its crystal clear blue water. You can actually see the the bottom of the lake from the surface.Since the weather was not so great (cloudy and drizzling) when I took these pics, I do hope I did just enough to capture its beauty and spirit.Definitely worth... continue reading

The Swiss press announced today that Chillon Castle, known by anglo-saxons because of the "Prisoner of Chillon" book by Lord Byron, and Switzerland's most visited monument, has now become a Trade Mark. What is interesting, is that it's not just the name "Château de Chillon" (and I guess its translation into a number of languages) that is protected, but also two particular "graphical representations" of the castle: when viewed from the Montreux side and when viewed from the Villeneuve side.... continue reading
