Newbies: Please skip the article if it scares you. If you are in doubt about WB or exposure, ALWAYS shoot in RAW.The photographers of advanced levels of knowledge about color representation and compression surely know that RAW files contain a huge amount of additional useful data as compared to a JPEG. A RAW may contain 14 or 16 or sometimes 32 bits of data per color channel. A 16 bit TIFF contained from a RAW of equal bit depth would give you (2^16)(2^16)(2^16) unique colors and intensities.... continue reading

If you know more precise data please say it.And one more thing, our autofocus system focuses in 350ms. continue reading
I have been having trouble with accurate focusing lately.I have the Olympus Evolt510 SLR digital camera and mostly use the kit lenses it came with for most of my pictures.I did buy a Zuiko telephoto lens last year to complement the other lenses.I'm trying to discover why the camera doesn't seem to focus evenly in the center of the photo.I generally use auto focus because I don't trust my eyes to tell me if the image is focused correctly. It may be the lenses I'm using, but I'm not sure.... continue reading
One of my photos has just been added to the upload file of Dreamstime. This is exciting but also very humbling, as 14 other files have been rejected.I relize I have a lot more to learn about what makes a good stock photo and I also realize now that my hands aren't as steady as I thought they were.My new tripod is about to get a well deserved workout.I like challenges and this new venture seems to be just what I need to start taking better pictures.I just have a question for whomever wants... continue reading
In most places, you only have 10 to 15 mins to take photos of sunset or sunrise, and for sunglow, you also need to keep monitor the clouds shapes and distributions while closing sunset, and you should arrive the right position 20 mins before the sunset time that you can check in the internet. For me, I'm lucky enough ^_^ that I can take such photos just from my balcony, or run downstairs to find a better angle if I want to include the bay views.Since the proper time lasts not long, I'll suggest... continue reading
