I'm a tennis fan, I like to play tennis, mostly as a hobby, but I also participated in competitions. Lately I've had another reason to love this sport: Simona Halep. I watch every match she plays, even late at night if the case, such as it was at the Australian Open. The problem is that because of the passion I put into it, I often end up with high blood pressure. I even joke about it with my colleagues: "Hi guys, last night Simona gave me 160 over 90 and it was only the second set.&... continue reading

In order to shoot some pictures photographers have to go thru things that most people never see behind the scenes. This picture was taken at a huge tennis court where many people usually are watching matches at day or night. Tennis is a very famous sport and is always on the news with celebrities like Serena Williams or Bruce Jenner being showcased so pictures like this usually show up more in news stories even though the editors sometimes will reject them as editorial until they need to write a tennis... continue reading

The impressively named Tournament of Champions is the last WTA tennis tournament of 2010. The event is being held indoors at the Bali International Convention Centre, which during the rainy season is a very wise move.Initially, I pondered whether I should attend or not. Over the summer I upgraded my camera, but still have no lenses other than the standard 18-55mm lens, which is surprisingly good for a kit lens. However, not the lens generally needed for an event like this. The camera has a... continue reading
