I recently picked up a light tent for small product photography andwanted to share my initial tests. The one I purchased was theDynaphos DPL-005L 24x24 LightCube. It packs really small and comes with 4 different backdrops (Black, White, Red and Blue). Please note that you cannot use these backdrops once you unpack it.The backdrops have so many creases in them which makes them impossible to use as-is.I had to use my steamer to iron out the very stubborn folds. This isthe only... continue reading
In preparation for the long cold winter months I have been on a bit of a spending spree to helo me produce new content over winter and my first purchase was a light cube, I had been using an array of stuff to get a studio type shot.Including glasses, clothes pegs bits of paper and the top of a fridge freezer to get some shots against a white back ground.I wanted to be able to have a little more control and something a little more sturdy so that I could work on some different idea but I was... continue reading
Like many of us, sometimes we dont have that much cash to burn to make good photos.I was trying to take pictures of strawberries (and a few other things) over white background and from my research, it seems I have to have a few things, namely, a light tent and multiple strobes.I dont want to spend more money than I have to, since I was saving up to buy a wide angle lens at that time so after thinking about it for a while I went to Ikea and bought a white laundry basket, and 3 table lamps which... continue reading
I love to photography the landscape and cityscape. Unfortunately, it seems that it is not quite high demand. Most of the time, they are not considered as "stock oriented" picture when I tried some creative or so called artistic point of view. After more that 250 uploads of 370 submissions picture, I come with the fact that isolated items picture are more demanded and some more for the daily used items. So I decided to try to do some "stock-oriented" picture ;) I bought a cheap lightbox tent.... continue reading
When I first started to interest in stock photography as a new-bi recently.I decided to purchase a light dome from Amazon or somewhere else. After a little googling I changed my mind andbuilt my own lightbox similar to the one in this URLIt was a few days later, when I discovered that a fluorescent light in my mothers kitchen counter was giving me the ability of a better and easier working environment than a light box could do.Since a light box has "walls", it can restrict the size... continue reading

Hi there,Well I've had a couple of images accepted from my first attempt with a light tent so I am quite pleased.I mostly take shots of landscapes and nature but I thought I would give something new a try.I bought a very cheap light tent and lights so I wasn't sure that my set up would be good enough but the end results weren't too bad.I found it quite difficult to get the correct white balance and I think this would be improved if I invest in some proper light bulbs...the ones I was using... continue reading
