It is a holiday here in the USA, a day of reflection and family for many, where we give thanks for what we have. I will NOT be out in the stores buying 'things' or camping out in the rain and snow. I will be with grandkids and grown children and parents, thankful that my parents are still here to share a dinner, thankful that my children are grown and have a roof over their heads and a job to care for THEIR children, and thankful for my 8 grandchildren, a few who have already survived medical threats... continue reading

I am grateful for my dSLR [and the person behind it—you see, my first and only (for now) dSLR is a gift from a dear friend who decided to upgrade from an older model dSLR, and thought of me--thus I got upgraded too]!This camera gave me a better vision and a deeper appreciation of the world I live in.I now notice things that I previously took for granted such as the beauty of these towering palm trees shooting up towards the heavens... the contrast of the dark green foliage against the clear... continue reading
Okay, I have a few minutes so I will promote myself a bit.My little concept humanoid silhouette got me to 1700 images. It's been a smidgen (look it up Maigi and Dessie) over 2 years since I made the plunge and decided to see what was up with this idea of selling photos on line.Or as my family says, "Putting them on the internet."It has bought me some new lenses and made me use my brain cells in different ways. Some would say that just using my brain cells would be different...most times... continue reading

Every second of every day needs to be lived to its fullest. It is very humbling to look at this great big universe we live in and realize just how fragile life is. As a human race, we are so busy with the day-to-day "things" of just making it through another 24 hours. God gave us all our senses to enjoy this temporary place we call home. It is easier just to skim through life looking at the big things in the broad picture. We need to dig deeper to hear, see, feel, smell, and taste all those scrumptious... continue reading
