Travels to Kauai

I love to travel and recently I had the opportunity to visit Kauai in Hawaii. I read as much as I could about what to see there. Kauai is one of the Hawaiian Islands in the Pacific Ocean. One of the places that is mentioned as a good destination is Waimea Canyon. It is said that it is the "Grand Canyon" of Hawaii because of the deep canyons and the walls have many colors.Whenever I travel I like to photograph the flowers and plants. In Hawaii, they are very tropical and exotic. Because... continue reading

Wayag Raja Ampat, Hidden Tropical Paradise

So guys, this is the unknown beauty.. Amazing crystal sea in an island which was called the black island. It's called so because 200 years ago, it was still the unknown, untouchable by the outsiders. It's in Raja Ampat, Bird head of Papua New Guinea which is the Indonesian part, located in the northern of Australia.      We flew from Jakarta to Sorong by plane and landed in the morning, welcomed by the beautiful sunrise in warm temperature.      The new airport... continue reading

First time Blogging so I'll talk about what I know

This is the first time I ever write a Blog and following the classic advice of Mark Twain - "Write what you know" - I've decided that for my first Blog I will write about the Island that is my home, Puerto Rico.  I’m always fascinated by how little some people know about this island; to the point that many don’t even know that it is U.S. territory but still, no one can deny its natural beauty and variety. The locals are friendly and through the island are attractions for every kind... continue reading

Panama... the 7 Seas Right through My Dooooor...

Well, not the 7 seas, but definitely two. I had the pleasure of traveling back to the tropics in early January and escape the increasingly mild Winter we've been having. Still, 80 degree weather and ocean breezes were a welcomed respite. One of the most amazing things to do while in Panama is to travel from the Pacific to the Atlantic. It's a magical experience that I highly recommend. By car, it can be done in less than two hours (without traffic of course)!Attached are some of the views I captured... continue reading

Photographing the sea... what I learned

Looking back at my portfolio I discovered a thing: I like take pictures of the sea ! Living in Sicily it's easy to take advantage of a beautiful day to reach the coast. I soon discovered that (like often occurs in photography) the best moments are in the morning and in the late evening, avoiding to shoot photos at noon when the light is too harsh. I like images with clear water with blue or green colors that remembers fantastic tropical islands. Sometimes it's possible in Sicily too to have these... continue reading

Before and After Irene - Quechee Covered Bridge

One of my first accepted photos on Dreamstime was from the Quechee Hot Air Balloon Festival. It showed one of the hot air balloons floating over the Quechee Covered Bridge.Just recently I uploaded a picture of the same bridge destroyed by the power of water from tropical storm Irene. The road leading to the bridge on both sides is washed away.To think on Monday NBC actually had a panel discussing whether or not the storm was "over hyped" because some New York City dwellers were inconvenienced.... continue reading
