It's been a while since I’ve posted here in the blog; I’ve been busy with life, work and family. As much as I love taking pictures its still only a hobby for me, something I do to relax and have fun. I started here for the criticism, to see if my images were good enough to be included here and to my surprise I’ve even had quite a few sales.Still, I know I have a lot to learn. I took these images while walking around the bay of Old San Juan, the capital city of Puerto Rico, where I live.... continue reading

If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try againA few months ago I signed up to Dreamstime as I have 1000's of images collecting digital dust on my hard drives.Choosing my favourite photos, and reading the rules and regulations, I uploaded 7 only to have them all rejected. However, the good thing with having photos rejected is that here you also get feedback as to why they were rejected which is great as the feedback can only improve your photography if you take on board what was said.Although... continue reading
I'm hoping to start a new series on my blog called "Trying Something New" to document new techniques or areas of focus in my photography in an attempt to improve my skills and keep learning. This week: concept photography.Anyone who gives a quick glance through my portfolio will notice an abundance of landscape and travel (and food) shots. What can I say, those are my interests!I do know that stock photography is overwhelmingly saturated with these types of photos and concept photos or photos... continue reading
Stock photography has really got me thinking about what THEY (buyers) really want.My usual fun and forgetful photography isn't proving of any interest to potential buyers.I had to ask myself a few questions.Wondering day and night what it was that I was missing. After deciding to research the site and others, I found that it was sometimes very simple.Talented photographers take oranges cut, sliced, peeled or whole and make them dance before the lens.I was in awe at how my kitchen could... continue reading
When you have two kids and one of them is 6 (the other almost 2) you can get very creative in thinking and doing when it comes to getting ideas for shoots. Kids never sit still and there attention span isnt the biggest in the world. How do you make sure you let them sit still? You think outside of the box and create new stuff out of nothing. That is what I did with these pictures. I tried new stuff after an evening of playing with torches, flashes, bike rims, lights, gels and xmas decoration.... continue reading
The last day of 2012. I still remember the day like it was yesterday. The time was ten in the morning, and I was cuddling my (at that moment) 6 month old son, while trying to get pictures with my Nikon 9100. I failed, and the compact fell to the ground. Lens locked, screen totally smashed....My girlfriend thought I would get mad as hell, because getting images of my son in playfull moments was something (and ofcourse still is) something I took dead serious. My son is my everything. But the falling... continue reading
