It is likely for non-divers for not knowing where is Lembeh Strait since the main attraction on the island is diving. Lembeh strait is located in between two islands, Sulawesi and Lembeh, off the north east coast of Sulawesi, Indonesia.Traveling to North Sulawesi might be more identical with visiting Bunaken National Park, a protected area which is more famous than Lembeh Island. So, why should I go to Lembeh and not to Bunaken? Which one is prettier? Bunaken or Lembeh? Well guys, I’m so sorry to... continue reading

1. Some things are so much more important than getting the shot. Underwater photography carries an elevated, but manageable, risk of death or serious injury and following safe diving practises must be the priority, no matter how exciting or unique the potential image may be. Competency with general diving skills, especially buoyancy control, is not only essential for your safety but without them your images will be underwhelming, at best.2. Respect the underwater environment. Following on from point... continue reading
One of my favourite places to dive is less than two hours drive from my home city of Edinburgh. The Farnes, a group of islands off the coast of Northumberland, offer the very special attraction of diving up-close-and-personal with wild grey seals (Halichoerus grypus). This species of seal is relatively common around the British coast, but they tend to keep their distance underwater and are rarely seen by divers. Not so in the Farne Islands, where the local population of grey seals have become... continue reading
When oceans want to show off, they make some waves. Literally.Waves are the arches that the sea is forming after a storm, splashing onto the shore in a great white foam. They are surfer's best companion, and they are also the nature's fury. We've selected two of the best images depicting waves from different points of view and asked their owners to tell us the story behind them, the trip, the equipment, the moment, the post processing and, of course, any other useful tips.... continue reading
I'm super excited to be part of the Dreamstime contributor team :) My first submission was accepted - 100% so far! (It was only 15 photos though.) I'm focusing mainly on my underwater and marine life photography at the moment. Here's one of my favorites from the group-- a grouper posing for the camera! continue reading
I’m in Bonaire for the next two months, so plenty of opportunities to grab some great shots of “Divers Paradise” above and below the water. The excellent visibility and virtual absence of significant current at most of the dive sites on the island should give me the ample opportunity to play about with different stylistic and technical approaches to photographing this beautiful Caribbean island. Hope you enjoy it as much as me. continue reading
Some friends asked me to make an exhibition of underwater photos for years. I was not sure that I have enough good photos for this purpose. But... on beginning of summer one friend took me to a new pub of his friend. Both together persuaded me to print and exhibit some photos. The exhibition started one week ago on Thursday the 8th of September and will last until half of October in pub M&M café bar. The first day of exhibition came mostly friends and we had great time on kind of vernissage :-... continue reading
I have been planning to go to see whale sharks for two years. There are for sure in Nabire (Papua, Indonesia), but to get there is not so easy. The city is small and it´s airport is even smaller. The plain tickets are expensive also because there are just two possibilities how to get there - from Jayapura or from Ambon. Both cities were far from my destinations. Also the trip to whale sharks from Nabire is expensive. When I was asking two years before, the price was 10 000 000 IDR - that´s 750... continue reading
