Hi,I guess all of you encountered this subject on the "day dreaming" sectionin the message board. Usually what you'll see over there are some happy contributors and some disappointed. A short story of my previous month's performance and this current can give you some perspective and hope.Last month I had 18 sales, it's a bit higher than my monthly average (indeed a number I hope to increase). The real problem was the average revenue. As all but 2 sales were subs my RPD was 0.58$. You must... continue reading

Hello everyone, my last blog was at 150 uploads, now I've double it...Yeah!!!But, I do need some advises because my images have good number of views but very low sale! Can anybody give me some advise what to change or what to do? I know my images are not always people and objects on white background, but I haven't even sold any of them on DT, the sold ones are totally something different. That is what is confusing for me. Is this normal for beginners or not? Thanks in advance everyone for... continue reading

As someone who is just taking my first tentative steps into the world of stock images, I am of course wondering what sort of images are most likely to be accepted.I would really prefer to not waste my time on images that really have no chance of being accepted due to the choice of subject. So what sort of images do appeal to micro-stock sites like dreamstime.com?I started out by looking at the FAQ section of the site, but didn't find the explanation offered there particularly helpful at first.... continue reading
I went out of town today with my girlfriend and came back with 249 high res. photos! At the end of the day I ended up touching up and uploading 47 of them. Cant wait to see what gets accepted. It was a exciting trip! The photo in this post is a Red-Winged Blackbird. This was one of my very first practice photos. Boy I learned a lot from my first photos.I spend a lot of time making the images look just right. Rotating them to the perfect angle, clearing any noise and so on. Im really getting... continue reading
Since I joined DT three years ago this is the first time I succeed in creating and uploading 100 images from scratch. It is only a personal and little satisfaction. In the past the record was 97....but records you know are made to be broken....what about you? what is your record of uploads in a month? continue reading
Today DT approved my 150th photo!I'm very happy because of that, but even more happy cause I really see the progress in my photos, so my learning and long evening hours with camera alone and in front of computer had paid off. And I want everyone to see the difference! Time between shooting these two photos is JUST ONE MONTH!The first was shot on 4th of April and the second one on 6th of May, this year both. Model is the same, but everything else is different, not just the concept, but the... continue reading
I admit I have been in a bit of a photography slump lately waiting on the beauties of spring to appear after a treacherously cold hard long winter.I happened to be reading a website about stock photography and read the best advice for me at the time:SHOOT AS MANY THINGS AS YOU CAN AND UPLOAD AS MANY PHOTOS PER WEEK AS POSSIBLEThis proved to be the motivation I needed to do just that so I decided to pass it on to everyone here.Since then I have had a few images reviewed and most accepted!... continue reading
Milestones take huge effort and daily perseverance. Today I reached my second one. It seems that the first two may perhaps be the most difficult to achieve. Having confidence in one's ability when the sales are few and far in between sure takes courage.I'm hanging in there and will be pushing forward! I know that it's about the number of quality images uploaded that drives one's success. Thank you all for sharing your personal successes. They encourage me greatly!!This is my 300th image.... continue reading
