The Importance of Colors in a Website

Choosing a fitting color scheme for a website is a bit of a hassle for any skilled designer. Imagine how difficult it is if you’re a beginner or someone who has little experience or color coordination abilities. Well, that’s the reason why I’m writing this article for you. Colors are really important for a website and it would be a shame to not know how to play with them when creating a website. But why are they so important? Why do people care so much about what colors are chosen... continue reading

Images within Images

I thought I would try bringing together some elements of my existing images to form one new image that works to a theme. All the component images are of the same topic. This type of image is very useful to designers, who often have a need for images to use as page headers, especially when designing websites. Here is a good example of what I'm talking about. This first one has a 'financial' theme                                      ... continue reading

A Great Coincidence

I am relatively new here at Dreamstime, and I am certainly not going to make a living on it.However I enjoy taking pictures, and am learning from my failures. The other day I was looking at my employer's external website, and noticed some really great pictures. When I saw the head of the communications department in our break room, I asked where the pictures had come from. She told me that they always get their business pictures from a site called Dreamstime, and they have an annual subscription... continue reading

Best Revenue from Websites

I have been creating and managing websites since years. They were mostly related to my own work or some for clients. The two websites that I was passionately working for over the years were The Official Michael Jackson Indian Fan Club - www.clubmj.com / www.michaeljackson.in and The Official Shammi Kapoor Fan Club - www.shammikapoor.net . I was also technically managing Shammi Kapoor's own website www.junglee.org.in in where I never fiddled with the design to keep it his own. But Shammi Kapoor... continue reading

My bestseller used on a website!

Now this is something really exciting! I casually searched my bestselling image, the comet and moon night scene...and found it on a binocular related website along with many other spectacular images. This isn't really the typical "bestseller" with 300 downloads. It only has 5 downloads...but for me that is quite a good sale rate because this file isn't even 6 months old. This would make it to level 5 one day (nobody got arrested for dreaming yet). :)Here is where it is used: Which-binoculars... continue reading

Looking for Inspiration

As a photographer at times we all tend to forget that all our shots revolve around a same theme or in some cases they are so diverse that its hard to find out. It is amazing to note that paintings of great artists are so unique in nature that one can guess the artist based on the style of work. The same happens in photography as well. As an amateur one tries a lot to learn. Some may call it copying and some call it inspiration. I would like to use the later word.In earlier days the inspiration... continue reading

The best file transfer site on the web and they support DreamsTime

I work for a busy ad agency, and we need to move large digital files around throughout the week to clients, commercial printers and industry partners. The problem is that some people and some companies don't have FTP sites or FTP programs to access our FTP site. The solution is to use one of the online File Transfer sites that allows you to email someone a link to download the files you are wanting to provide to them. We've used many of these sites.Recently I found a site that allows you to transfer... continue reading
