About a month ago I have read an excellent article about compositionby Alexander Wrigley .Although publish via Medium.com, this article is part of the an excellent web site that has wealth of tips about photography.Although labeled as "Beginners Guide to Photography Composition" it has nothing to do with beginners. This article brought a new wave of enthusiasm and excitement and had driven me to push my boundaries when I tried to get new stock images lately. These crop has... continue reading

As a food blogger for 7 years already, I always seek and try to learn as many interesting recipes as possible and also study the trends in gastronomy and food photography.Dreamstime has a rich collection of food images, made in different ways by very talented photographers or illustrators. So choosing only ten of them was a very difficult task, but I enjoyed every moment of this research.1. Hanna Shapulava’s style is delicious in itself. Always in trend with new dishes and food styling,... continue reading
In times past i've bought older technology because it was at a more reasonable price.Way back when I was young and single it was never the issue; but family costs come first. I started my DSLR and stock photography images using a Canon 400D which I purchased at a very reasonable price..This Canon gave me an introduction to DSLR and I enjoyed using it. I wanted something a bit more up to date and managed to get a store demo model of a Panasonic G6(before the G7); again at a very reasonable... continue reading

With a midnight deadline (tonight!) I am rustling together the 50 words for a Fringe brochure listing, that will best describe my show (a drama set in Famagusta, Cyprus examining divisions when two ex pat brits cannot cross to the South after being part of an anti fracking protest). In brackets there I have already used 26 words and not even told you where you can see it!Once I had found the right artist, it took two days to create the image to describe the showbut finding the right words to... continue reading
I have been the care giver of the best lawns around, however, these are my opinions.I believe that bagging the lawn is a matter of preference.Bagging offers a more beautiful end result, however the draw backs are that its more labor intensive, takes more time, and if the lawn waste is not recycled then it goes right into the landfill. Some experts believe that bagging is a must as it helps reduce thatch, while others will tell you that mulching the clippings back into the turf adds a natural... continue reading
Encounters of amazing diversity and great experiences featured in a recent couple of trips to Hyderabad in India. I traveled there on both occasions for work and stayed at an amazing hotel in the IT zone called Mindspace. The office was a short walk from the hotel and eating places were close.During my first trip I was fortunate to have a colleague show me an amazing site called Charminar at sunrise in the downtown area. Charminar was build in 1591 and means 4 towers when translated,... continue reading
Having been exclusive with Dreamstime for some time now you reach a point where you wonder whether you'd made the right decision or whether you might have been better 'spread betting' with lots of agencies, or indeed going exclusive elsewhere.Chatting to a close friend of mine who is active on another site I realised that there continue to be many advantages to staying exclusive with DT. For one, the 'crowd' here are friendlier than you will find on other sites, and the reviewers are fairer... continue reading
This is for all of you DT newbies that are wondering if all of this is actually worth it.When you first start out you upload image after image only to watch your acceptance ratio tank while you try to figure out what the editors will accept. You may start to get a sale or two but nothing you can put in the bank.So you have to dig deep in order to keep forward momentum and not just forget about micro stock all together. To say that there are ups and downs in this industry is an understatement.... continue reading
