Since my first Dreamstime upload a little over 4 years ago I have planned to blog about significant milestones; first anniversary, first 100 sales, first 1000 uploads etc. However, for various reasons, including tick bite fever (do not try this at home), I never got around it. So, why blog now? My uploads this morning are 7100, a nice round number, but significant because my 1 January 2018 goal was to get 7000 uploads by end October, with 8000 by the end of the year. My other stats are 818... continue reading

Hello World, just wanted to share my joy of having 2018 images online after the long journey that started in 2008 when I registered here on Dreamstime...My advice would be to never stop, to submit every bit of extra imagery from other photo jobs and to think of Dreamstime as a personal photo diary. Some lessons I've learned:Don't follow trends too much. Have it your way and have fun instead.Experiment - sometimes shots that feel hopeless can sell great in the end.Having many photos rejected... continue reading

Last winter I had an amazing trip to East Nusa Tenggara, Flores Island, Indonesia. The trip was mainly for diving and to see the biggest lizard on earth, Komodo Dragon. Komodo is the biggest living lizard on earth with ancestors that date back more than 100 million years. It looks like a dinosaur and actually holds up a vulnerable conservation status. It’s not just the mega lizard or the underwater life that is jaw-dropping, the culture is so pretty and the people are remarkably humble.... continue reading

It seems like yesterday but its been 10 years since I got my first digital camera Canon Powershot A320. A 3.2 mexapixel camera that opened the world of stock photography for me. I was a hobbyist and was happy with my Nikon SLR till I understood the potential of digital photography and the market it had.I was very confused initially whether to go for RF (Royalty Free) or RM (Rights Managed) . Since I had won quite many awards as a hobbyists in different photography magazines, online contests and... continue reading
I could have done more from the start, but along the years I've tried to make my port as varied as possible and it took me more than it should have to finally reach the 503 uploaded images mark.I could blame it on full time work but that would be just an excuse for my laziness. After all I'm pretty happy and hope that some of the new images will sell, as I've gained some insights on what graphic design agencies usually need in stock materials, hopefully they will also be attracted here due... continue reading
