Stock photographing Ourselves???

Hi everyone!

I hope this finds you all with LOTS of sales....

I have a question about photographing ourselves. I, personally, look better behind the camera rather than in front of it. However, I was wondering if it is possible for a photographer to photograph himself/herself for DT. If so, would we sign our own model releases? How would that work?

I currently have one really good model: my husband. But I was just wondering how it would work if we wanted to photograph ourselves. Is there anyone out there that has done this?

I look forward to hearing from everyone!

That´s a good idea, because it´s hard to get models! ;)

You guys are great! I love your photos, and your posts have really made me laugh! You have also inspired me. I have spring break starting this Friday afternoon, so I think I might take a stab at this then. I am sure I am much scarier in front of the camera than behind, but we'll see how it goes. :-)

Thanks again everyone!

well, in my portfolio, i have 2 lovely female models. but i only have one awesome looking male model who sometimes resemble tom cruise, and other times resemble frankenstein, lol.
this multi talent male model with a thousand expression is me.
and yes, i submit a MR , and even have a witness to make sure i got my permission to allow myself to use my likeness for stock photography, lol.
seriously, yes, you do need a MR even for yourself.
and yes, i am the best seller of the 3 models...
so far :)

Sure you can use yourself - you will need a witness to the signature itself, but on the model release you will be both the model and the photographer.

Dont know how good at photographiing you are, but what I know is that portraits dont sell well here. Illustrations wins all the way.
