Almost everything sells, always think as a buyer not as a photographer.

So all in all I must upload huge numbers of images to be successful ?

Not quite. To be successful you must upload huge amount of stock oriented and excellent performed images. :)

I want to know the answer to this one myself. :)

Well I have been around for a little while only, compared to others. But 100 sale mark already. All my competitor newbies (those who began around same time as me) are at approximately half my number of sales at best. So I guess mine is going pretty good.

Like the admins often say, I'd repeat, camera and equipment doesn't really matter. 100 technically amazing junk shots with Canon 1Dx wouldn't sell compared to a beautiful one shot with a simple compact camera. I didn't have a DSLR until this month. So just take care of lighting. Lighting matters. Post process ALL your photos. Don't upload right out of camera. It will affect performance I think. Camera photos come out rather boring.

So numbers AND quality game. Review your photos. Ask yourself, does it look perfect? Any faults? If yes, don't upload. :)

Regarding illustrations, use of colors matters. Isolating most illustrations is a great idea because people usually use illustrations as a part of something. Assume that the buyer doesn't know about PNG or vector or that stuff and would buy JPEG only (my illustrator friends say nobody really buys PNG or vector files. Only rarely). Upload both isolated and non-isolated version of really good illustrations. That's all I guess.

Yes! as with every other art form, exposure is the most important factor. And I don't mean the one you set on your camera....

Any type of stock is a numbers game. THe more you shoot, the more you can upload, the more you upload, the more you can get approved. THe more you get approved, the more that get posted to the site. THe more that are posted the more buyers you will attract. THis gives a higher chance of an image being bought. Looks the guys tha are selling the most. THey avhe the most images posted. Unless youi can get a shot of the first aliens landing and sell that bor a bajillion dollars, just keep shooting!!!!!!!!!!
