Take the plunge … it costs zip, zero, nada, nothing
For far too long I have been saying to myself, come one … try and isolate a few images that you can offer up into the freebies.
I've read many a posting for and against, I gotta say I somewhat torn between the two schools of thought on this subject matter.
But what I have to remember, probably we should all have to remember that at the end of the day if the item has been in your library for over a year, and not made a sale, at the end of the day … what are you loosing by offering it up as a freebie.
So what if all of a sudden 10 trillion people suddenly scalp the image …
At the end of the day you've lost nothing as at least you are getting hits counting toward your portfolio stats, and maybe just maybe you might be helping a starving struggling artist out there to just make the bread come with a little bacon, this time.
Couldn't we all do with a little extra meat on our plates once in a while?
[no offense, vegs! — but I just don't know how you do it]
So, anyway, I've not been able to realistically identify a suitable start to the realm of freebies, so why not really get my feet wet, properly.
I've decided that to get past the "pain" of giving all my hard work for free, the only way to do that is to do it the hardest way — the most painful route. Identify an image that I had to go out of my way to capture, then also one that I had to spend more time in photoshop editing out logos etc so that it could qualify for RF sales … and then aslo one that I concider to near & dear to my heart.
Ladies and Gentlemen — introducing the winner:
Go download it to your hearts content, spread the word … a Harvard has landed!
All I ask is that you just spare a moment or two to have a butchers at some other files from my porti … You know, while the nice new freebie is downloading in the background.
Hey, you never know what you might discover.
