Thanksgiving Memories

Thanksgiving is a time to share old memories and create new ones with the important people in our lives.

Every year is a new opportunity to create lasting impressions with friends and family.

My favorite Thanksgiving was the time in my 20's a friend and I took the train to New York City. We stayed awake all night on the streets of New York (an experience in itself) - staking out a spot on the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade route right next to the flagship store.

The next day we had VIP seats for all the floats, and bands, and performers - and of course - the larger than life balloons. The weather was perfect and so was the entire parade.

We ate corned beef sandwiches at a corner deli for our Thanksgiving dinner and then slept on the train the entire way home.

Years have past, and my friend and I have lost touch. But every year I watch that parade on TV and relive that magical day. And I'm sure my friend is somewhere doing the same.

I hope the memories you create today will be magical and lasting - whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not!

Thank you Karen! That is a good story. You make me miss New York. I was living there but never been to the parade. I am not the one can stay over night to get a good spot, but I imagine that was once in a life time experience for you! And it is unforgettable!
New York's holidays are different! Happy holiday to you and everyone!

Happy thanksgiving to you. I hope you have happy memories of this one also. Thank you turkey as well for the kind words. I do feel rather guilty that I have never made the effort to understand them a bit more as you have obviously done. :)
