The image that allowed me to Dream on Dreamstime..

Like every beginners, I was very frustrated, demoralized and felt hopeless during my initial stage at Dreamstime.

Tons of rejections as a result of blur images, lens fringing, chromatic aberrations, uneven sharpness in focus area, image is out of focus, poor optical performance due to low lens quality, and many more...Also very poor acceptance ratio limit the quantity of upload.

I registered with Dreamstime on 25th of November, 2008. The fist image sold was on 5th January 2009 (about a month after registering with DT), which made me very happy and I was jumping around. I even called my girl friend (now my lovely wife) and informed her about my great achievement. The second image sold on 11th April 2009 which is almost five months after the first image was sold. Five months is considered very long to earn a few cents.. I started thinking that this process is not going to make any sense in life. I started to give up and forget about this industry and I really didn't care it anymore. The third image sold was on 22nd of April 2010 a year after the second (One Year). That's no hope. I didn't even bother to log in anymore. Goodbye...

But the hobby still alive.... In the middle of year 2010 I visited Dreamstime again and you know what... Amazing.. The fourth image sold as (P-EL) with $12.66. Wow, wow.. speechless..

This is the one.. made my dream alive..

Everything is possible, there is noting impossible, things can be done... Something strike my mind..

In fact this images was taken with a small point and shoot camera using tripod. I still remember people looking at me as I was using a tripod for a small camera.

I start to think, so many "HOWs", so many "WHYs" to make good pictures and wonderful sales.. I try to read and observe how to achieve certain milestones in stock photography.

Since I am not a professional photographer, technically I can't afford much but keep uploading and uploading...Now my dream has come true (to a certain extent)..

Cheers and thanks for reading.

Congratulations! Bravo for surviving the frustration we all face at the inception of our journey as it is well know that more fuel is burnt in take-off than in the entire journey by the rocket. So, only few who dare to burn more fuel in order to complete the journey, only succeed. You too have done that and once again you have proved the point that great result can be achieved even in the absence of expensive equipments. Thanks for inspiring all of us. Keep enlightening ! Best of Luck for future sales. God Bless you![imgl][/imgl]

You have good images. You get to work harder. I am working much harder than you! I don't even have a tripod! I have the cheapest Canon DSLR. That is it. You have to take more pictures!!

It all depends on the amount of time and effort put in and of course skill, vision and the right keywords! Congrats!

I understand very well your story. Sometimes a picture is sold very soon after uploading. Probably because many buyers look at the fresh goods, so that the exposition of a just uploaded image is very high. But generally much more time and patience are required to understand if a picture can be sold. Congratulations for your portfolio and good luck for the future sales!
